He'll still start a "My thoughts on the IMSB situation" thread. It's inevitable. New owners can't help it.
Well as long as he doesn't start a "what do I need to do to prepare for a 300 mile road trip" thread and then back out of said trip he'll still be alright
brixie: OK, first off, "pics or it never happened." Just start your own into thread for them. More pics is always better. Details about the transaction are helpful to those currently looking to purchase their first Porsche. Things like like how you found the car, how the interaction with the seller went, what your concerns were and how you addressed them (speaking with seller, looking at receipts, seeing the car in person before the offer, PPI). Believe it or not, not everybody does a PPI. I've not done a PPI on any of the 5 Porsches I've bought, but I have done PPI's on cars that I didn't end up buying. I think you look at the totality of the situation to determine whether you need one.
Second, congratulations. You will never regret buying that car. Buying a nice car from a private individual is the smartest way to go, IMHO. There are a lot of advantages to buying that way.
Don't forget to spend the $17 to upgrade to a Rennlist member.
Thanks so much for the offer Gnat, but I just worked out a deal with the seller and have purchased the car. I did a week's worth of due diligence and then pulled the trigger, did not want it to slip away. I'm very excited to be checking this item off my bucket list, and can't wait to start driving this fantastic car!
I've reported you to the authorities for GTA.
Nicely bought(stolen). Not my color, but you done good and I'm sure you'll be happy this fall on some sporting drives.
"Garage kept", even while taking pics for the Craigslist ad. Seriously, he can't even back it out of the garage to take pics?
Plus, has the very rare 9-digit VIN.
^ That will not sit well with the boys on the Turbo forum. Must be something horrifically wrong with the car. Sure it looks nice, but there's gotta be some deep, dark defect lurking beneath the surface. Maybe the owner modded it by swapping out the cigarette lighter for one of those fancy new USB charger thingies - that kind of over-the-top modding would immediately turn it into a piece of track garbage. Plus, it's got ridiculously high mileage: 67,000 miles on a car that's only 14 years old? Good God, that's over 4,000 miles per year! This owner must've been some sort of traveling salesman to put that kind of mileage on it.
