Double DIN NAV options/photos
Time to upgrade and there are lots of threads on different options. I thought it might be helpful if people posted pictures and reviews in a single place.
So... Show me your Double DINs!

remember that double din will require for you to eliminate the optic system if you haev it in your car
most people doing the stereo upgrade have pre-2002 cars which uses the simple (regular cable) connection from the head unit and the amps.
later car have an optic system and require for you to replace the amplifier as well.

There are lots of good options out there. I ended up replacing my head unit, amps and speakers just over one year ago. I chose a Kenwood unit, and I had a custom iPhone dock built for it directly under the screen. I've been pleased with it.

I have an 03 with the Bose system. What have some you done with post 02 cars? 600 bucks to install a 400 dollar head unit seems excessive to me, but I would really like Iphone/pad connection.

This is mine. Done with a Euro Motorspeed kit from Ebay. It is JVC KW-AVX840. I keep an iPod in the car so I ran ran the line for it to the center console so that it is hidden.
I did the installation myself, but did not enjoy the process. The Euro Motorspeed guy was very helpful, but there was only so much help you can get in a phone call.
I must have the only 03+ delivered with the standard audio system with no separate amp. I am using the amp in the JVC. I am reasonably happy with that part and the sound is pretty good through aftermarket speakers.
What I dislike is that the telephone is so bad that it is useless and that the control system of the JVC is very slow. I would not buy it again.
Lots of info at http://www.renntech.org/forums/topic...trieullionaire, although some of it is dated.

Three Wheelin'
All of these units seem covered with logos like "Pioneer", "JVC", "DVD", "Divx" "Bluetooth", etc.
All of this ugliness is one of the main reasons I'm keeping my stock unit. Is any of this advertisement removable on any of these units?

The logos look obnoxious in these photos, but in person they are hardly noticable. It's not as big a deal as it seems.
