Question Pioneer in-dash system

Thinking of installing a Nav/Audio/Etc in-dash system and am leaning towards the Pioneer Avic Z140BT (vs. the Kenwood DNX 9190HD). Has your experience with your Pioneer been good experience?

AVIC 930bt. Works, looks, and sounds great. Nav is better than my wife's 2011 Mercedes.

Can anyone comment on the glare with these units mounted in the upper console? I'm considering two units. One is fixed position and the other has multiple tilt angles (including reverse to minimize glare). Will a fixed position screen be okay, or should I expect enough glare that I'd want the tilt option?

Thanks,

Shawn

Avic930BT by Pioneer on the way. I used a EuroMotorSpeed kit to relocate the HCU and a new cubby. All looks a treat!

Since the Pioneer AVH-P2400BT Touchscreen Car DVD Player will fit will the
Amazon Amazon
or the
http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-AVH-P3.../ref=pd_cp_e_1
also fit?

Which one do you guys think is the better choice?

Also is the installation pretty straight forward? I will be using the Euro Motorspeed 2002 PORSCHE 996 CARRERA 2 DIN INSTALLATION KIT found here.

Thanks

I chose the 4400BH. Very good unit, and you won't regret the bigger screen. The main difference is the screen size between these 2 units.

I also got the Ebay kit as linked, the seller was a great help also with install. If you have a 2002+ you will need to bypass the amp.

I went with this Pioneer Avic 930 I think like everyone else. Main things I liked about it was the Ipod Menu, Able to load a Porsche Logo for its loading image, has a dial for volume, because it looks a little more factoryish and I like a dial for adjusting my volume, lastly I like the fact I can customize the backlighting color to be the same as the OEM Porsche backlighting. I was trying to have it look as OEMish as possible since I hate the aftermarket look. I almost retrofitted OEM Porsche nav, except for the fact it sucks.

I am really hoping Dynavin comes out with something for the Porsche 996, it has a completely OEM look, has an android based operating system, syncs well with smart phones, internet connectivity, and what I like most is the google maps based nav system where as you approach a corner you can program it to show you the google streetview or that corner.

Dynavin for E46 BMW

This is a pic of my current setup. Bluetooth mic in an unused button to the left of the head unit

Does the instructions tell you how to bypass the amp? I have a 2002 with the amp (Bose system).

Is the video pretty accurate. Looks pretty straight forward.

I guess if I can change the oil, do the garage remote install and install a ipod cable in place of the cd changer. I can install this radio.

Thanks

John
