I went to Car toys. They want 160 for the install. Looks simple, plus I li8ke getting in there and doing things. My wife and I changed out the ignition switch. Being 6'4 and 240 at the time I could not get my hands in there. She crawled in there and finished it for me.

nice. I just didn't feel like dealing with it and I had some bucks dedicated. They did the sub, the amp, HD radio, traffic and dynamat (which was a waste of money.. didn't quiet anything down, just made the car heavier). At least i have enough watts now to enjoy the music over the tire noise.

I had Car Toys install my Kenwood DNN991HD. I also had them route an extra USB plug and the lead for the emergency brake out of the console so it can be grounded so the unit is fully functional while moving. I am very happy with this unit!

So, I've been sitting on the fence about updating my head unit. I have CDR 220 Bose system. So far, I've seen a lot of aftermarket double and single DIN options. What I'm wondering is if there are any factory options from higher MY P-cars that are also an option - plug and play of course. The goal is AUX and Bluetooth but not NAV. I've also seen some aftermarket add-ons that give you those and most likely will be cheaper.

All you have to do is install the Yatour solution for Bluetooth and aux input. I will be doing the full mod within a week, will post pictures and a procedure. Anybody could do it in an hour or two. About $150 and you keep your stock head unit.

Looks like a neat product. I googled it and found some info, but a lot is still unclear. Like what one sees on the screen (it works with Porsche double DIN head units?). Whether one can use the smart phone's nav system. And indeed, whether it works with Android phones.

Looking forward to pics, etc.!

Dynavin for E46 BMW
I checked Dynavin's site. Perhaps their universal units would work. Aesthetically, they blow everything else out of the water. But they seem to lack a feature I'm looking for - the ability to play WAV or FLAC files. Also unclear to what extent they are compatible with Android phones.

Pioneer units seem to sell at a huge premium to Kenwood and Sony. Does something justify this?

While reading about head units and such in this forum, this appeared at the top of my screen

http://loudlink.eu/webshop/porsche-b...FUWWtAodTjMA0g

Or rather an advertisement for it. It's a "CD Changer replacement [with] Bluetooth ... and losslenss FLAC player in one" from Loudlink. So my best guess is this attaches to the OEM head unit, which is nice, from an aesthetic point of view. But does it improve the sound or the navigation? Probably not - though all is just a guess, as the website isn't very helpful ... .

Anyone know anything about this?
