Jadiehat,

As this customer lives in Ireland and NOT the UK I assume Order No 83 is valid and will be charged and shipped as agreed.

What is the likelihood that an engine with a properly and fully functioning IMS Guardian still have a catastrophic failure without an IMSG alert?
Numbers would be impossible to calculate.. Because the system relies heavily on driver input when an IMS Alert is received.

There will be people who receive an IMS Alert and continue to drive or make dumb decisions because they don't want to stop, be inconvenienced and call a tow truck. This is the reason why the IMS Alert Hotline is such a good option, because it gives a lifeline that the driver can use to attain an expert recommendation.

There are people today who do receive some sort of warning from their IMS in the way of a noise or oil loss and guess what, they continue to drive one second too long and destroy their engine.. There is no fix for stupid!

This situation is what pushed me to develop the IMS Guardian. The DVD will cover more than just install, it covers what to do in the case of an IMS Alert and we also have devised a checklist that can be kept with the Owner's manual in case a driver receives an IMS Alert. The system will only be as effective as it's operator, because the system doesn't shut down the engine, only alerts the driver that some problem is imminent and the situation needs to be explored before continuing to safely operate the vehicle.

There will be no issues with that order.. Only UK orders as we already have a UK Distributor who has committed to a large number of units.

Even without the 150% credit, I'm sure you'll take good care of us Canadians when we need your help.
My reputation precedes me :-)

As long as someone was willing to assume the costs of shipping their car to our Cleveland Ga facility I'd have no problem carrying out the work and issuing the credit. We have cars shipped from canada regularly as well as every state in the US just for IMSR procedures.

Order #98 for me. I want the works and the Rennlist discount! So let me know if I screwed anything up in the order process.

I know you spent a lot on research Jake but it seems you've got a nice little chunk of change coming your way this Summer. Good job on developing and releasing this product!

Sorry Jake - I may not have been clear in my question. Have you in your testing run into any instances where the IMSG did NOT provide an alert and the engine failed due to an IMS issue?

I understand that nothing is 100% foolproof but I'm just trying to figure if this is installed, how much peace of mind one would get.

Also, *if* the engine does fail without an IMSG alert, is there the same 150% credit? (All the posts I've read specifically state the credit is good if the IMSG sends an alert.)

Thanks!

Okay, so if I was number 2, who was number 1? They should get a plaque or something...

Nicely done Jake and congrats on a very successful product launch!

I'll keep an eye on this thread for the next version (987S) compatible. Have a great weekend.

Sorry Jake - I may not have been clear in my question. Have you in your testing run into any instances where the IMSG did NOT provide an alert and the engine failed due to an IMS issue?
No, but we also have not forced an engine to fail while being monitored YET. This is my next and final test for the technology and it will be done in my Dyno Lab under full documentation.

I understand that nothing is 100% foolproof but I'm just trying to figure if this is installed, how much peace of mind one would get.
I can tell you that the piece of mind will be priceless. When I get into my 996 with the unit installed and perform a press to test and drive down the road I feel better about the car than I ever have.. Keep in mind that the engine does have the IMSR performed and I still value the Sense Of Security that my system brings to the driver's seat. The people who have seen it have been astonished, the term "brilliant" is the common response.

Also, *if* the engine does fail without an IMSG alert, is there the same 150% credit? (All the posts I've read specifically state the credit is good if the IMSG sends an alert.)
If this occurs we WILL apply the 150% credit to any Flat 6 Engine Solution.
The terms are simple, as long as the mode of failure that the engine experiences is determined to be one of the advertised modes of failure that is detected by the IMS Guardian we will issue the credit with no questions asked.

If the mode of failure is determined to be something outside the realm of detection by the IMSG, we will not issue the credit. I am easy to work with and would probably treat someone "right" if this did occur, no matter what- as long as they remained respectful and sensible in regard to their expectations.

For any credit to be issued the car or engine must be shipped to our location. We will not issue refunds, parts or etc otherwise. To receive the Flat 6 credit, flat 6 must carry out the entire job.

Hope that makes sense and is direct enough to understand without confusion.. I hate fine print, nothing we do has fine print...

Thanks!
