Default Best Porsche websites

I'm looking to put together a comprehensive list of the best Porsche websites. I'm looking for forums, parts sources, blogs, clubs, magazines etc. I'll give them a rating based on how many people recommended the site.

After i put the list together, I'll post it here.

Thanks
Larry

Thumbs down

Just thought this might be of interest to the Blog as it shocked me.

I have a Cayenne Diesel and having filled one of motorbikes with fuel just before the car, I inadvertently put petrol in my diesel car. I drove on 100 yards when I realised my mistake. I stopped the car and called Porsche assistance. BIG MISTAKE. Porsche have not even opened the car. They have quoted £8,968.99 to maintain my Porsche warranty. That is the standard price! Upset by the price I was advised to phone Porsche customer services. The lady there unhelpfully stated "what did she expect them to do, it was my fault" and advised I speak to my insurers. Very rude and very unhelpful. The garage has informed me the work they need to do actually only needs to be £1,300 but if I do not spend the £9k there will be a mark against the car in the Porsche records that will mean it has no value to a Porsche dealer. The whole experience meand I will never own a Porsche again.

6speedonline, pelican, planet9,renntech for the main starters...

Suncoast and Sunset have always been the two more popular OEM parts retailers on these boards for new parts.

While it's woefully off-topic in the 996 forums, and equally off-topic in a thread about Porsche sites... exactly what response were you anticipating when you called Porsche to report that you filled up and drove (however briefly) your diesel with gasoline, and what answer were you anticipating from customer service? 9 grand to dump the fuel tank, clean the fuel lines, replace the fuel filter, and do whatever other diagnostics need to be done to ensure your Cayenne isn't hosed seems like a lot, but you called them.

Dumping the fuel, changing the filter, and clearing the lines probably would have cost you a couple of hundred pounds if you'd just towed it to an independent mechanic.

Maybe the lesson learned here ought to be that you're not meant to own a diesel...

Let's think about this - wrong fuel, wrong blog - maybe he shouldn't own a Porsche - makes the rest of us look bad.

My 14-year old daughter wants me to get her some sort of Argan Moroccan Oil. Mighty expensive stuff. $48 for 1.7 ounces.

Hmmmm... 9 quarts x 32 oz per quart = 288 ounces.

288/1.7 = 169.4 bottles needed for an oil change.

169.4 x $48 = $8,131.74 per oil change, not including the shipping and filter.

That Argan Moroccan Oil must be great stuff!!!

Is this the right blog to post this Tweet in?
