where I live I see so many nice cars mine doesnt even get noticed (nor did the 99')
I am not lying when I say I can see as many as many as 10 NICE Porsche's driving from the time I get off the freeway to my house onle a couple miles away... they are everywhere here. (not counting parked ones)
My suggestion to you is to keep fresh breath and smile a lot....enjoy your car and dont worry about the "little people"

I think you are reading too much into it or just adjust your throttle so that it remids you once in a while that you need to take action to grab an opening. Maybe the metermaid was planning to sctatch her cubiczirconium ring across your windshield when applying the ticket

Hmm, don't have tinted window, but do get the occasional stare, but it's probably the yellow paint job..but just recently noticed the chase and stare when I do my morning ritual at traffic lights otw to work...nose picking

Mabuhay don't feel bad about city traffic. It's full of brain dead actions due to the droning on these people have been raised to drive in. Speed limits and crashing from just staring at the rears of cars for hours makes real lame drivers. Some I'm sure feel they have attained race car driver status if they can get ahead of you for just a second. A down shift and full application of throttle then sharp turn into openings will get the results you need to remember for how to look at the common view of the others driving as comical. Don't forget good braking is half of the story when catching the spot you want. Develop a feel for the performance of other cars around you and make a good shot of power and you should have the space needed to get into holes that open. That or just sink in the quagmire of oblivion city driving will give the car and brain. Of course I'm not the best person to take advise from since my sport bike went down the bike lane for a few miles today. A choice between a couple hours of retarded traffic to get home or rip the hearts out of traffic jammed bumper watchers. There will probably be a lot of people shopping for bikes this weekend Get a 1000cc sportbike and find out what near 1/2hp per pound is like. It's a thriller for sure doing an 8 or 9 second 1/4 mile on a stock factory bike these days. Those annoying drivers **** their pants and give up quick after you open it up. 100mph in first gear? yah it's deadly fast. The 911 is for going slow

I think it is definately a Boston thing, a bunch of overcompetitive drivers trying to out-do one another....ever notice that Bostonians don't get the "zipper" concept.....they simply shoot down the merging lane and try to "shoehorn" their way into the line.........As a former Bostonian, I would alway get a tuner/slammed car/driver who wanted to race.....but I would have fun on the on ramps and off ramps........ once I left the area, then the other drivers seemed fine. So, IMHO, it is not the tint of the windows, just the competitive nature of Bostonians, especially once they get behind the wheel.

"Mass-holes"?
One of my first driving experience in Boston was while at a crawl on a freeway, intersecting with a merge lane or something, we were alternating who got to go, when dude next to me didn't want to follow the "left/right/left" order, swung open his driver's door right in-front of me. I had to hit the brakes to not sheer his door off - and in that moment, he dove in front of me.
(Actually, I might try that move at my next club race...)

No doubt 'Beantown' drivers have a pretty poor reputation period. I cringe when I have to go there, and usually prefer a friend to drive instead, it's pretty insane compared to other NE cities.

I got the same crap to deal with in Brooklyn... my favorite maneuver is when I try to change lanes into the center because dumbass in the left lane is going 50mph with no cars in front of him and wont yield, the typical driver behind me in the center lane will sped up and just drive 50mph right next to me. The block-in happens ALL the time. Challanges from civics, minivans, escalades, etc are so common that I learned to ignore a long time ago.

Pretty much the same story here it DC. Either you get the oblivious driver who pays no attention and cuts you off because they are the center of the universe or you get the crazed vigilante in the prius trying to show you, or you get the boy racers. Funny thing, is in traffic, we are all doing no more than 20mph.
Is it me or do people seem to be angrier/more obtuse in DC traffic?
Hence I choose to drive my SUV most of the time.
