I'm super happy that the values are holding up. I'm not thinking I'll ever MAKE money on this car, just nice to know I'm not losing money every day it sits in the garage (grin).

Yes, all my mods are reversible and I too have all original parts.
Wife has been told this is a collector car with great value.
I love to show her these threads.
keep it up.
Maybe make a few good stories about how the 996 is not the ugly duck and POS the aftermarket part seller trolls like us to believe.

In regards to collectors value, the 30th AE 964 have skyrocketed in value which are more of cosmetic differences compared to 40th, so I won’t be surprised if 40th can climb up in value.
In 2012 I bought a ‘91 964 for $12000CAD, back then people were not too crazy about them. 911SC were more or less the same price range as well, and look where these cars are in terms of value now!
But I agree that these cars should be bought for enjoyment and fulfilling dreams, otherwise it will be a miserable ownership thinking about when it will make money.

Koni FSD on AE cars
I have a 2004 Anniversary Edition car and had Koni FSDs installed on all four corners. Alignment shop said the fronts are too tall and the best he can set the camber at is 0 degrees. I believe spec is -1 degree camber correct.? End result is the front end wanders and the steering just feels loose especially at high speeds. I have read countless reviews that the FSD is direct replacement. Is it possibly related to the AE M03/ ROW option or do I need to find another alignment shop?
