Default PSE quiet from 28mph - 44mph?

Is there a way to stop the flapper from closing during this MPH spread? I assume it's so that it's quiet when you are going through neighborhoods, but I don't like it.

I don't want to pull the vacuum line from the flapper and plug it, as I want to be able to use the button on the dash, in case I want to quiet it down when I have a passenger in the car.

Is there any way to do this?

Thanks,

- Anthony

My 03 C2 has a button on the dash to turn the PSE off.

You could try this: http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=2470

that needs a sodering iron to reverse it (and thats if you dont burn the diode)... a lot easier to unscrew a wire... no?

Where is the relay for this? And if I remove the speed sensor wire, the button on the dash will still work, right?

I assume this would throw a code as well?

I snipped the little diode wire inside the box. Button still works. No code or lights or anything. It just works. Great mod, definitely would never ever ever need to reverse this IMHO.

There's no reversing this mod. I certainly don't want to, and if I ever did, I'd simply replace the relay.

Check the write up linked above.

When I installed my PSE I simply did not connect the speedo wire. Disconnecting the wire is easier and easily reversable, rather than altering the relay.

I don't understand why you would install PSE, including all of the electronics, then disable the speed wire?

Previous owner did this hack prior to my arrival. I see no reason to ever reverse it. It's only there because of noise restriction laws in somewhere like Sweden or Denmark.

Scott,

That would be done so you don't get the QUIET mode between 25 and 45 MPH, which you WILL get even if PSE is "On."

Can you tell me where this goes? Is this done on the exhaust, or elsewhere?

Ok, I just registered on Renntech and cutting the diode seems rather easy, and I don't see why I'd ever want to reverse this. Getting to the back of the relay board to remove the speed sensor wire may be a bit more tricky, however.

I wonder how much a new relay costs if I ever decide to replace this. Probably $100 or so...
