PSE quiet from 28mph - 44mph?

Whatever. Not my car, setup, or install.

the electronics by themselves is $400.... it is more than just a relay. I installed a switch between the speed signal. So you can reverse the mod with a flick of a switch.... never say never. Maybe some swedish guy might want to buy your car.
But, no big deal... if you want to snip the diode, that works too.

There is a wire that goes from a connector on the speedo cluster to the relay. It sends a speed signal to the relay which will close the valve (quieter exhaust) between 25 and 48. Apparently this is to comply with European sound regulations. I wanted the ability to switch on and off the PSE (remember that the default postion is the louder setting). You could also put a switch on the wire so that you could have the option of the system going quieter at the medium sppeds, but I did not want this.

I did this the easy way - I pulled the relay. Problem solved and took only 5 seconds.
Yes, the "quiet" button on the dash won't work anymore, but who would use that anyway? The PSE sounds perfect and doesn't need to be muffled. There is no drone.

You're on the right track with the relay.
History. Porsche, in order to comply with Switzerland's engine exhaust laws, restricts the PSE dB between those speeds. America has the least restrictive noise pollution laws.
