I've been on the outside fringes of the planning committee for Porschefest and Jim Peterson looks like he's putting together a great weekend!
FYI, if you are thinking of going, sign up soon, then get a cottage at the host hotel - 2 bedroom with living space that cost almost the same as a single room in the hotel! We've already got 2 booked and the "bar" is planned out.

Any links for the tasks above? I don't see any details on the Carolina's site. Thanks

I would love to go to Ashville...may I suggest dinner on the Sunset Terrace at the Grove Park Inn?
Well, that pretty much answers the question I was going to ask:
"Anyone interested in Porschefest on May 23-24? It's in ASHEVILLE (That's west of Charlotte)! I just read about it in this month's Tobacco Roads".
Looks like it'll be Alex and me driving longer distances...

Grove Park Inn!!! My wife may actually be up for that, although I would have to take the Boxster as she will not ride in the 911. Grove Park has a great Spa for the Ladies and a great fireplace to sit in front of on cool nights. You can actually walk in it, it is that big! And, Biltmore has a nice wine shop. Great place for pictures of all the Porsches right in front of the Biltmore.
Looking forward to Saturday, I'm up here in cold, snowy Detroit. Not where you want to be in the winter.

I used to take the trek to Asheville each summer for the VW Kubel Treffen with my 73 Thing before they moved the event to Lexington KY.
Took 4 1/2 hours with a top spped of 65, maybe 68 downhill.
Don't ask how fast I was able to go heading up the large mountain

Scott - I'll scan in the information from Tobacco Roads. Speaking of the Carolinas PCA website, I pulled it up and was greeted by an awesome picture of our very own Dell in his RSA. Here's the link:

Enjoy!

OK - I'm lazy, Scott. Here's the link to the Carolinas Region's Tobacco Roads magazine. The info is on page 22.

Let me know if you're serious about going.

If anyone is interested, I am taking my boys to the auto show Fri night. Maybe see you there? Unfortunately we all can't fit in the Cayman, unless I convince the youngest to ride waaaay up front. Hope to make the Wake Zone Sat.
