Is it safe to park our cars downtown Raleigh? In general I tend to keep away
from downtown areas with my P car.

Manil - We'll head for the lake with you, George, 928 Ken, Cayman S Ken, Mitch, Helmut and Michael. That will lead to serious cutting and pasting of the photo, but it'll be worth it.
Dell (and Tim) - my memory card was in the computer as it crashed yesterday. As you can imagine, I'm not happy about it. But, I'm going to find another way to upload the photos. Oh, how soon we have forgotten the times when no one but Michael was posting photos regularly.
That was one hell of a group we had on Saturday. I'll post the details tonight.
Sit tight, everyone. Now that there are 15-20 of us, it's a lot more intimidating when you guys want something! But, I'm OK with that - what a great group of to hang out with on Saturday mornings.

Forgot to mention that I pulled into Leith "incognito" on Saturday afternoon. But, John saw me eyeballing the red 997 aero and casually walked over to open the door to me - that clever man.
Anyway, I drove the car and it was awesome. I really enjoyed it. It's a consignment car. John's going to see if he can make it work as a CPO choice for me. Stay tuned.

Bob, I haven't seen it, but I know how much you love your car - go out to the garage right now and think about it.
You available to meet up one night this week? What kind of flash card is it; I have a couple readers.

So Bob...you're being unfaithful to your 996 and lusting after a newer 997 after all the years and miles you shared together? What a jerk.........so you were just using the 996 until something better came along......

OK - I've thought about it. I'm staying with my 996 - I'll let John know in the morning. The red 997 is beautiful, but I parked my 996 right next to it and I didn't feel strongly enough to make the change. Also, the red 997 has 36K on the odometer after almost 3 years. My 996 has 36K on the odometer after 10 years and I know how well it's been maintained.
I guess this means that the red 997 didn't mean anything to me - it was just a superficial attraction.
Now I have to live with that guilt.

Good choice. I believe i've seen your car at european performance before being serviced and it is clean! Your car will definitely pull a premium in later years, and I think (hope) the 996s are close to hitting bottom in terms of depreciation.

Saturday Pictures Retrieved!!!
Thanks to my wife's computer, we have photos!
But first, thanks again to everyone for Saturday morning. It was the largest group we've ever had! Here are the 16 people who showed up:
Dell (Arena Red 996 Cab)
Scott (White C4S)
Martin (Black C4S)
Jeff (Gray 996)
Charles (Blue 996)
Randy (Blue 996 Aero)
Peter (Arena Red Boxster)
Dave (Silver 997)
Ralph (993 Cab)
Rich (911 Cab w/Roll Bar)
John (911 Targa)
Paul (928)
Alex (Blue 996)
Ahmet (Blue 996)
Bruce (Red Cayman S)
Bob (Black 996 Aero)
14 Porsches were on the beautiful drive. We learned a valuable lesson - we should have maps for the group, just in case a traffic light separates us.
I really loved getting a picture at the Lake. It isn't everyone from our crew, but it's a great group. Our regulars who were absent will have to be in the next sunny Saturday photo session!
As for next weekend, I don't mind riding in the Escalade (thanks, Dell), and I certainly don't mind going to Brier Creek for the PCA/Italians Day. I'm even thinking our regular ritual is fine too. You guys decide - I'm in either way.
So, here are my photos of the day. I'll spare you my duplicates of the cars at the Lake. Scott and John's photos are as good if not better than mine.
Have a great week!
