I rode in that car a couple weeks ago. OMG does that car sound great! The owner, Brandon, is also a very good driver (races at VIR)! He had the rear end sliding around on highway exit/entry ramps with complete control...and also did a couple runs through the gears. Did I say that car sounded good?!

Forwarded information from Jon (via Jerry Magolan) about events coming up this Saturday:

There are a number of us who meet at Jason's Deli at Brier Creek every Saturday morning at 8:00 AM, along with other members and non-members of Hurricane Region. The first Saturday of the month, if you are not aware, is a massive gathering at the same location, of car enthusiasts, including Porsches, Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Corvettes, etc. We have had well in excess of 150 cars depending on the weather. Please feel free to join us at any time. We are a 928 friendly Region of PCA.
A coastal event sounds great. Something either just before or after tourist season, when the weather is still nice but the roads are less crowded, would be nice.
Finally, Saturday, May 7 is the Hurricane Region Charity Concours to raise money for Duke Children's Hospital. It will be held at Brier Creek Commons, and is $20.00 per car to enter (all proceeds go to the charity as our overhead for this event is nil). The entry fee includes a chance to win attendance at a closed practice session with Coach K and the Duke men's basketball team this fall, and includes the practice, dinner and several mementos from the day. The couple who one it last year (Jim and Janice Hollingsworth, who also are 928 owners) had a wonderful time. It would be great to see more 928s at the event.

You are welcome Scott. You can never ask too many questions about the track.

Re: 928s; I love how its necessary to qualify that a region is '928 friendly', like 928s are the special uncle who lives in the attic.

Hey now, your special uncle needs love too!

In all seriousness it's a great show and shine really. Cars show up at eight and are on display from about nine to noonish. Proceeds go to a great cause too.

Nvm, it made sense in my head. I figured it was better than saying that I thought 996s just look like Boxters. The 928 is way "hotter" by comparison.

But yeah, I'll keep smokin' what I've got with Ken.

Back to the pipe.......
