Let's call a truce. I'll go to my indy and get my scratches buffed out, you go to your MD and get your tramp stamp buffed out and we'll call it a day.

This thread has gone way down hill. Ben, certainly brought some of this on himself, but the "pile-on" is going a little over the top.

Wow, look how my thread turned out. Missed a couple of pages there. I put up the thread to get a poll, not to start an internet name labeling contest. If you guys don't like someone's post, someone spending their money on girls/guys/escorts, guys buying cars to get chicks, then just move on with your lives, whatever the heck it is you do in the daytime. If this were a 997TT forum, it'll be a different story.

Yep, I'm a poser, too
Though I'd have to point out a 911 is built for performance *on the road* - and that's precisely where I drive it. I'd probably never buy a GT3 RS, even I could afford one, 'cause the thing is basically built for the track, and I don't go there. And Land Rover is built for performance off the road - in fact, if it's a halfway decent off-road vehicle it's built with engineering compromises that actually hamper it's performance on road.
What else do you call it if you're buying a car specifically to impress? You're buying it to see and be seen in - in short, to pose in. Nothing necessarily wrong with that, if that's what you like to do with your money.
Wear your poser status proudly

FYI My DD is a 91 Merc 300E that has 198k miles. Collecting cars is just a hobby as any other.

just as i had predicted - a bit of racism, a bit of accusing people's friends that they don't know of being prostitutes when in fact they're quality people. and by complete and total strangers to me.
only if you cowards could say this stuff in person

They may well be quality people. Their chosen profession does not necessarily make them bad people. Although in this case I would question their choice of clientele.
