What do girls think about 911s and Range Rovers?

Nick,
We are near the same age too...Union College 1979....a few fraternity brothers and I drove to Bolder in winter of 78 to ski... had a ball.
Great quote from B. Russell....That is definitely the truth.
How did you get your picture posted in your signature? Every time I try it the upload wont take because of its size. Your's looks like a big file. What a picture. If you wouldn't mind can you send me a copy of it? thanks,
Andy T

Well... if you compare it in that way, what about those people with Porsches who never race or take them on tracks. Isn't that poserly too? After all, P cars were built to race. I bet you half the people with P cars don't take em on racetracks. A bank director made a comment to me why I got a $99K sports car when I don't even race. I have been called a poser for that. Heck, I haven't even taken my 996 over 110 MPH. Do you take your P on the track?
Though I'd have to point out a 911 is built for performance *on the road* - and that's precisely where I drive it. I'd probably never buy a GT3 RS, even I could afford one, 'cause the thing is basically built for the track, and I don't go there. And Land Rover is built for performance off the road - in fact, if it's a halfway decent off-road vehicle it's built with engineering compromises that actually hamper it's performance on road.
What else do you call it if you're buying a car specifically to impress? You're buying it to see and be seen in - in short, to pose in. Nothing necessarily wrong with that, if that's what you like to do with your money.
Wear your poser status proudly

If you're gonna edit someone's posts, at least have the decency to indicate you edited it, with a "fixed it for you" or "edited it for you" tag line..
Otherwise, if we all go posting made up quotes from each other, than how do we know who the f*ck said what when?

ah man where do i start?
-get what you want
-chicks dig the rover cuz it hits on their maternal instincts and consciously/subconsciously see themselves driving their kids to school, practice, b-day parties
the rover is an appliance, the 911 is an experience. what i mean by this is the rover you're going to have to get the latest and greatest to get any sort of cred whereas the 911 993 and up get enough societal approval/ love regardless of whether you have the current 911 king 997 GT2 or a 993 c4s. just make sure you slam it on a set of nice wheels w/ an aerokit.

If you want to make your ***** bigger, just rub it a bunch. Trust me.
On a serious note, though, if you want a driver's car and don't mind the reduced practicality, just get the Porsche. Otherwise, while I can't claim to have any interest in Rovers, if that's the chosen alternative, go for it, I guess.
Also: cdodkin, your car looks great with those wheels!

Apology accepted..
Sorry for going off the deep end - it just that if we all start misquoting each other, nobody will know what the heck anyone actually said unless they go back and check the original post word for word. I don't even like it when someone edits someone else's words and puts "fixed it for you" - but at least that tells you someone mucked with it.
