996 Water Leak Passenger side
My 1999 996 has sprung a leak. Water is coming in around the front of the center console and soaking the floor on the passenger side. It seems to happen after rain or after washing the car. Any ideas how to fix this problem

I had a similar problem but not after rain or washing. Mine was a clogged AC condensation drain. If it is the drain, make sure they take out the drain tube and blow it out with high pressure air. You may need to remove the carpet for some time to make sure it dries completely. The padding is very thick and takes time to dry.
The A/C units in this car creates more condensation than any othe vehicle I've owned.
Good luck.

Jim,
You got.....I've turned of the air and no water. Sounds like another $500 to the dealer to fix it. I have been amazed at the amount of water that comes out.

I had the same problem and it was the AC condenser tube had come unhooked and it was a simple fix behind the dash that I did myself. Huge amounts of water even when not using the AC, must have come on automatically as a dehumidifier or something. Anyway it was the easiest DIY fix I have had yet.

Super happy that I found this thread! I had the same problem and thought it was a water leak from all the rain we have had in Florida. Water was still collecting on my passenger side even on dry days. I found the drain tube, turned on the AC and with in a minute water was dripping out. Blew out the line with 40psi of air compression and the issue was fixed. Total time spent was 10mins. Thank you Jim in Southlake TX for posting what you did, it helped me out a lot.

Sunroof leak/gap
Hope that someone can steer me in the right direction.
I've had my 2003 cab for 2 years and throughout that time when it rained water sometimes came in from the passenger side, but not a lot a lot of volume and only when it rained heavily. I couldn't see a gap or anything at the time in the convertible top, but knew there was an issue.
Fast forward to 2 weeks ago when my daughter pointed out "the spot where the rain comes in". I'll be damned if this mystery hole was now very visible and now I can see my fingers through the gap. Is there a way to repair this gap? Pic of my dilemma
attached.

Isn't there a cable that runs along there, and when the cab top is closed tension is on the cable and holds it down tight against the window seal. Maybe take a look to see if there is any slack in the cable.

Most common cause for that is the front rivet has broken.
There is a tension cable that runs inside the edge of the top. The cable has a spring connected to an eye that is held on to the top frame with an aluminum rivet. If you bring it to a top repair shop it will probably only be ~2 hours to fix.
Do a search there are a couple of DIY threads with pics around.
