I'm still going through all of them. don't know what I'd do with a watermarked 600x400 picture anyways

I only ran the dragon, and I ran it literally all day, for two days. around the 5.5 mile marker there is a pull off with a bench and a fire ring that we sat at for hours just watching traffic.
I arrived early friday morning and basically had free runs all day. slower traffic was mainly great at pulling off.
Going towards NC, its good to hit the brakes at the state line and let the car cool off and keep and eye out for 5-0 (which was not there outside of a downed tree)
Going back up towards the lookout, there is another "1 mile to overlook" sign that is a good point to let off and let the car cool down so you don't hit anyone crossing the road or pull in with your brakes on the verge of fire (which was common)
there must be 20 photographers along the route, which is a little distracting at first, but you get to ignore them.
I would eat at Tapoco at least once, great spot next to the water
129 hub was good too.
The group I went with goes every year, and I'm going back again next year for sure, it is a beautiful area with a lot to see outside of just ripping the dragon (which is fun enough to do by itself)
A couple of dams to check out, the skyway, parkway etc.

If you're referring to a Porsche group that was also there, no, this was an old group of friends from college/work

Here is a video of a few bikes blasting through the Dragon, typical day there includes several bike crashes and a couple cars off in the ditch/bank.. Very dangerous if you cross the yellow line, and even dangerous if you don't...lol But if you have never been on the Dragon this is what you will see... Other roads around are just as fun with less traffic but takes a few days to run them all... We usually allow 3 days per trip..... https://www.facebook.com/watch?v=1145010349613087

I had a friend who totaled his car on the Dragon . He was coming around a blind curve and met a car over the yellow line who had slide over a lane !!
I dunno, I think your insurance will be good ( it's not an official Race Track ) , but definitely check your air bags and seat belts for proper function, and even a helmet wouldn't look completely silly...lol

you should absolutely make sure your insurance is up to date and would cover replacement. between bikers hanging their heads over the mustard and jeep clubs using both white lines as their limits it is absolutely terrifying at times.
plus if you go off, its going to be down the side of a mountain into a tree.

The run I posted a video of earlier was taken before I had breakfast. None of the photo outfits were there yet. None of the stores were open yet.

I've got a route from a recent run up to that area from this September. It completely avoids tail of the dragon and has us shoot up cherahola skyway.

Has anyone a preference as to accommodations? I rented a cabin there once, it was very nice, all the cabins surrounded a fire pit and grilling area, and behind the cabins, it's all wooded. https://www.watershedresort.com/vaca.../rental/loft1/.
I do recall that the short access road was steep and I was glad to be in my 06 Cayenne S. Maybe it's improved now. The developer does have plenty of options, but unless we're planning on cooking, maybe this type of place is overkill.
Just thinking out loud. Unrelated, Next Sunday is the Chin Track Day at VIR that I've been invited to, will be there Sunday and given a ride in a very quick (red grid?) 992 cup car. My heart is literally pounding already. I've never been in a race car, let alone a freaking Cup Car. Woohoo! One week till green flag (never said that before)

I'm about 2 days from getting home and I'll take a look at both... I'm mentally checked out at the moment.
