Burning Brakes
I know I bailed on you guys, but I actually will be up there a little after 1PM tomorrow for a couple passes up and down. If you see a Red Mclaren 570 that is me. I will look for you guys if you are out while I am up that way.

Finally finished the Dragon and the local roads. First like to thank @158Sierra for leading the group of us. Extremely thankful because aside from the rain. I couldn’t have dreamed of a better event.

Just wanted to say thx to the guys that put this together. All i had to do was show up and drive and man did we drive. I burned up about 23 gal of fuel in about 8hrs on the road. @TheChunkNorris picked an excelant airb&b and @158Sierra (and wife) did a kick butt job of leading the pack. The group was rounded out by @Justin76 . You guys that didnt make it missed a fun ride on some great roads even though it lightly rained most if the day. At least there was no traffic and not of us had any drama with our cars. I even surprised @zbomb and let him drive the last leg of the trip, the tail, to be honest it sucks sitting passenger in your own car . We rounded out the evening with some good food, beer and conversation.

So much fun.
The route @168Sierra mapped out was awesome and the machines and drivers all performed so well.
Driving GT3ish on the tail was a really nice surprise - the cars as good as you think it is, better actually. I just tried to give it some justice on the driver front. Aaron wheeled it like a boss all weekend, as @TheChunkNorris @Justin76 and @168Sierra did. The weather was a challenge with rain, damp roads and fog, if that was a damper, it was a very mild one.
As good as the driving was, hanging out with the dudes was the best part.

Glad everyone enjoyed the driving tour. It was a nice trip with some very nice cars.
We had a great time and look forward to doing it again. It was great to meet DeJeeper, Zbomb, Justine76 and TheChunkNorris.
Even though the weather was less than ideal, it did reduce the amount of traffic on the roads so we could drive at a good pace.

Alright... I will chime in with my two cents for the weekend and sum it up with one word.. EPIC.. you know it's always a risk staying two nights in a house with 3 guys you've never met before, but it turned out they are cool dudes. It was great making new friends with @TheChunkNorris @De Jeeper @zbomb and @168Sierra even thought he called me Justine in your post above . Thank you fellas for putting up with my chatty ****...
The roads were great, the conversations at night were better, and the only bad was the drive home alone as you can see below..

Looking back, the loop that @158Sierra picked was perfect even with the weather being less than ideal especially when he hit the fog... Thank God @De Jeeper has a functioning rear fog light. Felt like I was playing a video game and following a red light to find my next quest. Regarding the group of guys, I was probably the odd man out as I've never pushed my 996 in any capacity so I was a little hesitant due to the weather. Justin rode with me through the Dragon on Friday when we initially met up with Sierra and his wife for dinner, he did some light coaching and gave me tips to instill some confidence so I appreciate that.
Justin's car is probably the cleanest 996 I've ever seen! Sounds amazing. GT3-ish is a freaking monster, so we sorted out and man a real Mezger is something to admire and experience because it's not easily explained. Sierra's car sounds like a damn angry gremlin, something about that 4.0 growl and howl at speeds. All the cars present made appropriate Porsche noises and it's really cool to hear 4 different engine/exhaust set ups while driving at speed.
I did but not on the actual Dragon. It was a sweeping right turn and I dragged my right foot on my carpet which caused me to hit the back of my left foot... I was already on the brakes but missed the line and oversteered. No damage and I didn't hit anything... I'm thankful.

Agreed @TheChunkNorris .. you did great by the way! Thanks for the SWEET comments.. I did capture a special moment of @zbomb and I after the day was complete ... we were talking about the day and how great the cars did, and how nice an LS would be on the cherohala skyway, we even invited each to our local cars and coffee events... It was a special moment that i captured in the short video below. Thanks @De Jeeper for capturing this on your phone sir
