To bad Porsche canceled development on this car....It ticks all the my boxes (except budget $$$$, but maybe they will put an IMSB in it if they ever build it..lol)

It even has my Favorite "Fuch's wheels" !!

They would’ve sold every single one of them too.

Cancelled during development - it was called the The Porsche 904 Living Legend Concept.

Probably found that the best part of it was the design study unfortunately. Hope it lives on as another car.

All the U.S. General bling came off very easily. I think it looks a lot cleaner de-badged.

Default From the land of meats and bourbons

Had a fantastic weekend visiting my wife’s family in Victoria. Most like to enjoy life and party. Anyway we started cooking on Saturday and the briskets were wrapped at 6am Sunday morning. My wife’s cousin after having two different pit bosses that both currently don’t work got himself a rettech, this is the 5 cook in that pit and he says is way far superior. We enjoyed a makers 101. Every time I’m out of town I visit whatever liquor stores always hunting for those harder to find bottles. In my case has to be Buffalo trace. I met the owner of twin liquors in Victoria and he was a super nice guy. They just received a case of Buffalo trace and he got me a deal, 2 bottles $46. I also bought the two bottles of Jim beam old tub, bottle in bond unfiltered, so flavorful. We spent some time with my wife’s cousins from her other side off the family. Two of the cousins had recently been in the hospital so it was nice to see them doing some much better one had a battle with cancer. Anyway after playing pool I got the munchies, vuola they made some fresh chicken fried chicken. If you guys ever go to Victoria Texas a pretty good place for Tex mex is pinto bean, it’s mandatory for me to take the wife there every trip we take, recommendations, barbacoa (head meat), carnitas, carne guisada, their tacos are pretty big. Anyway I’m going to Kroger as soon as they open need to grab me a brisket and a prime rib roast. We were going to go fishing but we all got pretty drunk playing darts till 3 in the morning. My new friend snipper was getting the darts so they put a shock collar on him and we were able to play .

Two more for my blends.

Carnitas for me. That is a small taco.

Wife had beef enchiladas with Chile con carne gravy, those refried beans are pretty good, they make them the old fashion way with lard.

Snipper became my new friend.

New rettech.

The pit boss is out of commission

We were going to go fishing but the beers liquor and the pretty entertaining darts game, yes we were betting got in the way.

I told them I was hungry and there it goes freshly made chicken friend chicken, the potatoes were awesome. This place is better than the holiday in.

14 hours total cooking time at 200.

Makers 101, my opinion ok, but for pretty similar money, I’ll take their cask strength.

Three briskets a pork butt, sausages, ribs, we always do all kinds of meat feasts.

All kinds of Texas sausage , the jalapeño one was pretty flavorful, we also had andouille and the more traditional pork beef garlic.

Default Cars biers, humble Texas

Good day at a new to me European car repair shop. Met some new guys. Saw some different cars, coolest thing 996 guys going to total wine, nice to know I’m not the only guy that takes the 996 to buy booze 🥃. By the way the moisture in my dash lcd display is gone.

Moisture

750 hp 1971 911t transmission can’t handle all the available power

Vuola thanks to the Texas heat moisture is gone

Smaller venue but I got to meet different people drove the car 125 miles that was a big plus for me

13k mile cream puff metropol blue interior car just came from California

Turbo cab that was idle for 4 years

Transmission parts for the Maclaren

1500 horsepower destroys the transmission

Time to shop

Now I’m putting 151 proof rum in my bourbon blends

I had the good fortune to be invited as part of a group to visit a private car museum near here. 3 Dog Garage. Fantastic place, especially if you're a Ford fan. Cobras, Mustangs, drag racers, road racers, NASCAR racers, historic hot rods, even a Ridler Award winner. Amazing place. I took a pic to send back to my wife, who loves woodies.

I share your sentiments. If that project had been given the green light, the eight would possibly add enough low-end torque and power, but avoiding the bean counters affixed to those wonderful engineers is another story. Still, at first blush, it appears to avoid the usual "RubberMaid" appendages, the F22 vibe with large nostrils, the assorted decals, and added-on chrome-plated plastic scripts that adorn every crevice to convince everyone that you bought a Porsche. Perhaps I am dating myself, but there was an aura of beauty, elegance, and simplicity to the old 356s, 904s, and early 911s. However, I have no trouble accepting various wings, appendages, homage decals, and other devices expressing the individual owner's personality or taste, especially when tracking the car. I frown on placing a three-dollar decal or some useless appendage from the factory and then charging nosebleed prices for the privilege. Your right, it ticks off all my boxes!

Default What really happened to America

I definitely miss the old days. I attended Texas Tech university from 1986-1991. I came from Puerto Rico. I went to Abilene Texas first in May after I graduated from high school to stay with my cousin worked some at the military base then went to graham central station once fingering the daughter of a Presbyterian minister. Today I questioned What happened to bladder bust at fast and cool, you could drink free beer until someone had to pee, on Thursdays you could go to midnight rodeo, yes country music is like exlac to me, from eight till 11 five cents draft beer ten cents mix drinks you would be supersonic with only two dollars anyway many drunk girls too so you could get to have a hell of a lot of fun. The best motel was buddy holly park **** dominoes had large pepperoni pizza for $5. Today Starbucks and bud light are friends with the trans what happened to the América I fell in love with 😍 honestly a sad story how the country has gone down the toilet

Not 996, my other car addiction is the VW Corrado. Yes, it's a sickness. The thing costs like a Porsche, is as reliable as a Ferrari, and you get the performance of a Yaris. That doesn't matter one bit to me. So yesterday I headed down to north central New Jersey to meet up with some Corrado buddies. A lot more buddies showed up than I expected:

It looks like a VW dealer's lot in 1993. We had 24 Corrados (only 2 G60's) and a stray Mk2 and a Mk3. The sound of 22 VR6's is intoxicating. My opinion is that VR6 is the best sounding engine ever. The harmonics as we drove were crazy.

Eventually we pulled into another lot.

Most of the guys went for lunch, I had to head back or I would be stuck in traffic for hours. As usual I got the award for most miles driven to the get together.

I do not regret getting up at 4:30 AM to cruise down, it as a glorious day and all the cars were fantastic.

Any cummins fans out there? Time for reassembly on my 5.9l twin turbo. Had the motor rebuilt 100k miles ago but for some reason the rod bearings did not hold up. It got a new crank, bearings and a light hone.
