Three Wheelin'
Talking about electric ⚡️ power.
My mother who still lives in Puerto Rico got hit by the Huracane . Today she has been without power since Saturday the 17, 10 days. Last Friday the water
was shot down. She still in good spirits and manages to go to church every day. She doesn’t want to leave. Ever since I became a professional and was well to
do I wanted them to move here to the states. Anyway my Brother owns two homes next to each other and the house next door is supposed to be moms but she doesn’t want to leave. I even had a contract on a 1/3 acre lot across my brothers two houses and I couldn’t get her to commit. It blows my mind that someone could have such a better more comfortable life but decides to endure all of that crap. When I tell my mother that PR is a third world country, she keeps on saying how wonderful it is. Anyway I’m visiting friends and family in Victoria Texas, eating all kinds of tacos, and enjoying the pool at the hotel with my dog. By the way what about the Damn “Cowboys “ we had a blast, I got 15 pizzas from domino’s, the wife’s cousin got 175 wings from wing stop. I had to get the bourbons, royal battle Turkey 101, vs Jim Bean 108, vs 1792 small batch. I think the Jim bean is great and wasn’t super overpriced for what is .
In Victoria Texas they have a bunch of little hole in the wall restaurants, refried beans with lard and salt pork. Homemade flour tortillas.
Bean Ribeye tacos.
Food smorgasbord for the game.
Battle royale
My red raiders beat the Longhorns, yeah another long day of drinking for me.

A close friend farms over 10,000 acres of corn in the Midwest. The property is spread out over three counties. His operation is a “partnership farm” with John Deere… He recently received a phone call from his John Deere representative, and they want the farm to go to electric tractors and combines in 2023. He currently has 5 diesel combines that cost $900,000 each that are traded in every three years. Also, over ten very BIG tractors. JD wants him to go all-electric soon. He said: “Ok, I have some questions. How do I charge these combines when they are 3 counties away in the middle of nowhere? How do I run them 24 hours a day for 10 or 12 days straight when the harvest is ready, and the weather is coming in? How do I get a 50,000+ lb. combine that takes up the width of an entire road back to the shop 20 miles away when the battery goes dead?” There was dead silence on the other end of the phone…

"We reached out to a company spokesperson for John Deere to ask about the viral post. By email, they told us, “John Deere does not have a partner farm program.” They also said that they “never called farmers to ask that they switch to electric tractors by 2023.” Perhaps most important, the spokesperson said that the company “has no plans for battery operated/electric large tractors and combines.” In other words, the viral story appeared to not even be a possibility in reality. Additionally, while we were told that the company does have some long term business goals that involve offering a line of small electric tractors and other compact equipment by 2026, large tractors and combines for farms are not part of these plans."

To put this as apolitically as possible for this thread - agree with philbert that I believe when something is decreed "illegal" then it becomes political. Seeing some governments seem to be favoring one technology over the other to the point of making one illegal seems like a political move to me. But I'm a guy who buys old broken cars for fun so don't listen to me.

What ever happened to a free market? All these new laws are just a form of socialism. I know...off topic. But I fought during wartime for our freedoms. It really ticks me off these days. People use to have a brain and could make a decision for themselves. Not so anymore...

And thanks for your service in fighting for our freedom.

Just listening to a recent Smoking Tire podcast and an interesting fact came up with regards to EV production. "Lithium is what's needed for batteries and it's a very abundant element, however, in order for the western civilization to have 0 emissions cars some poor people lives are going to get f***ed up. We're going to need a lot of mines. To satisfy the capacity needed per government EV goals we need to open about 35 lithium mines a year for the next 20 years globally. That's 700 lithium mines." Just let that sink in.

I think the main reason that socialism or authoritarianism might be creeping in is because too many citizens don't care one way or the other. People in the US tend to forget why we can enjoy an incredible sense of freedom in our lives. But with this freedom comes individual responsibility, and that means being responsible for understanding the political issues, being informed and educated, and telling our representatives what we want, and then voting to prove it. And of course we have to be responsible to our fellow citizens as well. I am a bit worried that people simply feel entitled to the freedom our country provides, take it for granted. But clearly we have to work to keep our freedom or else we won't even notice that it is slipping away until it is too late.

The greenies get so caught up in the cause that they loose sight of the effect.
