Default Cooking a storm cleaning the seats.

Today was Puerto Rican day. Smoked pork butt, Arroz con gandules with a Mexican twist. Cleaning the 996 silver surfer interior. Another bad as? Porsche Day,

Off course Puerto Rican Rum to go along the 6-8 hours smoking journey.

Puerto Rican dish “ Arroz con gandules “ with a Mexican twist to make it like fusion cuisine.

That pork butt was bad ***.

That’s what a plate look like.

Got the seats and dash cleaned protected on the 99 coupe. I’m hungry fixing to eat.

Went to a fun 968 themed C&C at a nearby dealer. The below green 914 was an original owner 313k mile example. Legend. They are building a Classic Center next door and will be restoring cars there.

The main event was the real 968 CS that was recently purchased on BAT.

The white one is in the process of a pretty major rebuild.

Ran into the older cousin, 50AE car. Nice guy and car. Loved the interior on it.

Nice! The later 2.0 liter 4 was actually quite an improvement in power (that 2.0 4 was also used in the "1-year-only" 1976 912e) --but I couldn't afford a 2.0 back then though. Are those unpainted Fuchs allows on yours 914? If so, no common to see them on the 4-cylinder 914's. Mine (as seen in the prior photo) had Fuchs-style hubcaps fitted by the prior owner. They looked legit unless you got really close to them, but even in high school I couldn't handle the fake Fuchs, so I fitted the stock moon caps over the original steel wheels.

22 year old ge gas range, some of the stains
are war scars. Jason got your point. Breakfast sandwich of champions, smoked brisket, smoked pork but, toasted 7 grain bread, Mayo , gouldens spicy mustard, melted Swiss cheese, Ipa to wash it down. Life is good.

Texas bbq at its best.

Yes, the 2.0 wasn't completely gutless and the car only weighed 2,000lbs soaking wet. The PO had done the 5 lug conversion but IIRC, the Fuchs were knock-offs. Like so many of these cars, it had been converted to carbs from the factory fuel injection. Because of this, I couldn't get it smogged legitimately. That was an era where there were still smog places with shall we say questionable ethics that would "find" ways to get it to pass.
I got tired of going through this song and dance every two years so I sold it.

I was going through the workshop last weekend and came across the well worn repair manual and a DelLorto carb manual. In those pre-internet days, I wouldn't have been able to keep it running without these books.

Finally hit port for the first time in 3 months and so far all my friends had to look up where the hell Seychelles was because they thought it was a fake place.

One of my guys wanted to go on a hike to a Tea place up on the mountain… 12kms and 3hrs later(23kms round trip)… we made it. Rained 3/4 of the time but the walk was nice. The locals have been really accommodating and so far I’m enjoying the port call. We should be heading to a Rum tour tomorrow so I’m especially looking forward to that. 4 months to go and I’ll be back in Miami. For those who were interested in doing that Dragon in Nov, I’m going to have to reschedule to the first week of Dec because I’ve been formally extended.

Based on your first photograph I advise you pinch yourself because I have to agree with them. I hope you squeeze every ounce out of the Seychelles.

Yes it was everywhere and they're clearing it in large swaths.

Thanks and I've had to pinch myself a lot this year, I'm grateful and fortunate. 2 of my crew were with me on another deployment early this year and so far we've been to:

Key West
Puerto Rico(21 days) - Ziplined, Hiked and spent time with my family who are native to PR
Curacao
Trinidad
Cuba(Not so nice but we were the closest asset to Haiti during the earthquake, we did real world stuff)
Jamaica
Greece(Crete)
France
Seychelles

With any luck I'll be getting off at the end of the Oct via Maldives and will probably spend a couple days before going back home to Miami. Ship life is rough especially with the way the world is now but my guys are good so there's virtually no babysitting on my part, we're a team of 4 and we all know how to do our jobs which makes my day to day very easy. Right now I'm especially missing home, my girlfriend's son started Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and that's something I enjoy. My brother competes and I roll with him every so often, it's something that I hope to do with her little boy who's only 7. He's been telling my girl that he wants to give me "that smoke"... I'm going choke his little *** out.

wish you a fast and safe return home. Don’t be surprised when you get back to Florida you will realize the cost of everything has gone thru the roof. The second highest inflation market in the nation is actually the Tampa st Pete area and Miami is like 6 or 7. I was just reading a bunch of articles about costing and how everything is moving in the us economy. I particularly recall that the average home price increase in the Tampa st Pete area was 35 percent year over year. In another news I went shopping for my fireworks today, trying to avoid traffic. I can give you a clue my fireworks are not going up in smoke.

Getting ready for the 4th. I don’t spend money in fireworks 💥 I prefer to drink them while watching someone else’s money going up in smoke. I’ll be loading on beer Friday.
