Yes, I didn't mention the coyotes and snakes. We had those also. At night the coyotes would come out of the deep woods to stalk the rabbits in the development. We all had to put screens over our drainage pipes because the terrified rabbits would run up the drains, and the coyotes would tear the pipes down. Also we had the poison toads which were plentiful and could make a dog very sick if they grabbed one or licked it, as they were prone to do. It was nice where we were in Naples but just too damned many threats....and as you said, for people like us from the North we often did not appreciate the danger in these threats...
Didn't see them. But there was a new barbecue restaurant opened up not too far away the year we left. I think they specialized roast pork. Could be where the poor pigs ended up. Survival of the fittest. I also think the pythons in the 'Glades may have whittled down the pigs also. Tough to be food in the food chain....

Man FWC is going hard on those pythons. They only kill males and tag females so during mating season when the males start tracking females... they're done. As for feral pigs, they can be hunted year around on private land. No restrictions on what you use(trap, shoot or use dogs), you can hunt at night and only require a permit in WMAs. I haven't gone pig hunting and shoot steel and paper but older/bigger pigs tend to have parasites so the smaller ones are better for eating.
Spent a little time on the Man Cave project putting up the acoustic foam tiles. When I was picturing it in my head, it looked great. The real thing? Not so much. It was supposed to be in the theme of the Gulf Le Mans livery, but besides the blue being waaay off, it just seems too busy or something...
Put the stereo system in anyway.
Took the Gulf logo out for now. I'll live with it like this for the time being. At least I can now listen to music while I ponder any changes.
1958 is calling, they want their hi-fi cabinet back.
That's actually really funny. I was born in '63 and my parents bought that cabinet a few years before. It's really a 'buffet' and was part of the first real furniture they owned after they got married. They also bought dining room, living room, some bookcases and yes, a stereo. This was in Berlin, Germany and I have no idea what they paid.
As my Mom remembered it, my Dad was dead set against spending the money and only relented when he was allowed to buy a stereo (as long as it was also Danish Modern).
The stereo was a tube Blaupunkt that had to warm up. It also had a Garrard record changer. You can see it behind my sister's head here. BTW, this pic was taken the day I left home to join a barbershop quartet.
This would have been taken in Berlin in the mid '60s. You can see the 'hi-fi cabinet' behind Sis.
And another shot a few years later back in the states. I see I've already unwrapped a Tonka loader and a Buddy L bulldozer.
After driving the coupe Friday and Saturday, the car sat for 29 days, I just went back and enjoyed the car, I’m glad I decided not to sell it. Last night my ipd plenum came in. Can’t wait to
have it installed on the car. After this is done, I’ll be removing the back seat covers. The car is going to be as fast as it is going to be. The thing that will make it faster, a bigger engine. Anyway decided to stay home and rest, i
drove over 1300 miles between Wednesday and Thursday and I’m fixing to drive 1600 more miles. So today I made breakfast for the family. Then Chinese rice. After many trips to China and some friendships I got the real meaning of how they created Chinese rice. After a week worth of leftovers you basically combine everything to make the rice. That’s what I created today, scramble eggs, Chinese vegetables, water chestnuts, bamboo shoots, smoked sausage, garlic shrimp, ribeye, pork rib meat, lightly breaded chicken breast. A few Chinese sauces included soy sauce and vuola, creation for the day. Now tomorrow I’m flying early in the morning to meet the “black night in Person “ 2003 55k mile 996tt that I’m bringing home, epic drive 1600 miles, more interesting for me I’m getting a bunch of performance parts, wheels for free from the owner. Believe me as soon as this car is here and I get it registered it will be transformed, I was told by the owner that after I put all the performance parts there this is a 600 hp plus mezger beast, I’m like a little kid waiting for Santa. That’s the serpentine belt for the turbo. The owner had the 60k service done at the Porsche dealership but they didn’t had the belt. They told him the belt was good but that he could change it whenever. Ipd plenum for the 99 coupe. Different ingredients for the Chinese rice. Finished concoction, I wish I could make egg rolls.

Are you thinking you'll return the tiles for another color? Looking at your stereo setup I was thinking just white/light grey would have a Porsche Racing vibe and would look killer with your setup & the red Porsche logo.

Even a dark blue (while not being anywhere close to Gulf blue) might look nice against the orange versus the current Tealish color (not that there's anything wrong with Teal @Dr_Strangelove). The orange is such a strong color, something like dark blue would make it blend better into that environment in my opinion.
Additionally, adding a simple stained wood border (maybe 4" or so) all the way around the acoustic tiles would be very simple and inexpensive to do and it would make the tile blend in with the room and equipment cabinet much more. The Porsche logo sign is very cool and kind of screams for some stained wood to go with it to my eye.
