Default 996 MPG question

Just took delivery on a 2000 911 C2 engine type M96/04. This is my first Porsche and I was wondering as I watch the fuel consumption - what is the MPG on these engines? I bought it on BAT - more on that experience later. Thanks in advance.

I get around 14-16 mpg running errands around town, and about 23-24 mpg steady highway speed. Hope that helps. A lot depends on how much I punch the accelerator. I also rarely rev the engine over 4000 rpm. I seems the sweet spot for my 99 996 is between 3000 and 3400 rpm.

I get around 17 in my day to day driving. I'd label my day to day style as medium fun.. Have yet to get any highway mpg's measured.

I just filled up today. Got 198.7 miles and used 13.592 gallons, so 14.62 mpg. Since Covid, all of my driving has been in town, so a lot of idling at stop lights and just quick spurts to go wait at another light.

I have an 2002. Dash tells be I get approx 14 to the gallon w/ combo local and highway. Have a GT3 throttle body and IPD plenum. Don't know if I suck down more fuel with them or not. Run it along the rpm range between 3-6k pretty consistently. She needs her exercise with the proper interval training.

When I was daily driving mine 52 miles per day, I would get around 17 to 17.5 mpg.
That was mixed 50% high speed freeway and 50% stop and go traffic.
Now most of my miles are country roads on the weekends.
I no longer worry about gas mileage as all my miles are fun miles these days.

I average 17 around town. Not much traffic, but low speed and many stop signs. On the highway, at slow speed (like 55-60), I get up to 25mpg. But I regularly drive 80-ish on the highway, which puts my MPG back down to 20-21-ish.

My last 50 fill ups, covering 7 months and 13,200 miles my 03 4s averaged 21.445 mpg. Car lives above 3500 rpm whenever warm, sees triple digits whenever warm, and spends most time above 4k rpm.

That's very good gas mileage.

Agreed, cost of gas is the least of my concerns!

Sorry can't help. Never checked. I do measure smiles per mile and that is always off the charts!
