Default New 996

Just received my 2003 Targa Tiptronic from Flat Six Innovations. It now has a reconstructed 4.0 Street Performer 1 engine. The dyno numbers were 285 HP and 263 TQ. The original engine was running but had bore scoring at 71k miles.

Thanks to Jake, Jud and crew for another exceptional build on time and budget.

I think the original 3.6 engines were 300 HP at the crank, so with a deduct of 15% for the drive line, it would be around 255 at the wheels, and probably even
less for a Tiptronic.

Interesting. Nice car by the way. Can you notice the difference in power?

It will get better as you put on the miles.
I have about 13k miles on my 3.4 to 3.6 Street Performer in my '99 C2. The more I drive it, the better it gets! Amazing..

I miss my Targa so bad. Yes, I did upgrade to a 996TT, the driving experience of the Targa with the top open though is not the same. A FSI build would be awesome. Enjoy that car!

Super nice. I think the engine is probably putting out close to 350HP, IIRC, the tip/diff suck about 20% from the crank.

Thanks for all of the nice comments.
I never drove the car before buying. Also never driven a Tip. Looking forward to getting it broken in the rest of the way starting today.
Plenty of seat time in my 996 at the track with the car in my avatar. The FSI engine in that puts down around 365 RWH. So it will be a interesting comparison.
Looking forward to some touring in a car that is turn key and go, including heat and air! My 356 doesn't have any heat and only 2/55 air conditioning.
