What's the story on your photo? That's not your car, is it? Looks like a good place to kick up a little dust...
Have it all cleaned up and ready for a short drive. I had a second cam bore plug blow out again (opposite side) and have been cleaning a lot of oil that sprayed the left side. What a mess.

There has to be a reason those caps are blowing out. What are you doing to investigate this?

I thought maybe my newish AOS is failing but the good Doc said it's not uncommon. Porsche used no adhesive in these and they pop out with age he said. I'm just under 60K miles so time will tell.
Just got my Manometer with no instructions or tubing, so I need to figure out how it works.

My Rupse Hand-held HT-1890 Manometer just arrived yesterday, for AOS monitoring. If you have the same make/model, curious to learn what you learn.

Mines a Dwyer model 476-0 Single Pressure
It says to vent both presser ports but there's only one port, WTF!

I have one with two ports, I hooked one to a barbed fitting installed in a spare oil cap and left the other one open to atmosphere.

Well I bought my single port without realizing it. I saw another member recommend it and ordered from the link he posted. I have no idea where that thread is.

No. Know. Who knows?

Post #272 and #280 show the one I bought at this old thread:
https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...une-up-19.html

The link is around too. I can post again, if there is interest. Seems to work well. There is no need for two nipples... well on this device, anyway. If your device has a a vent to atmosphere, that's all you need. Simplifies things, actually. Hard to take readings off the wrong nipple if there's only one.

Damn spell checker got me again. The Nome knows!
The device has no second port or any vent to the atmosphere...I checked all 6 sides.

I guess it could be a closed system. What's the highest pressure it's rated to?

Water column. Wow. That's very specialized. I think that's less than 1 psi.

Bill, you only need one port. The other port goes unused (to atmosphere) for the devices that have two...

If you look at the thread I posted above, there are links to other threads someone else posted. Ahsai is the expert in this stuff. 5" of w.c. is ideal according to those threads (Tony Callas reference).

Is that good or bad? It's all Greek to me!
