Mid 100's at a short-track DE event 2 weeks back. I will definitely hit higher when I visit COTA in September, though. You don't really even feel like you're hustling all that much. 03 C4S here.
I've had my 996 a month and hit 118 on an empty stretch of the freeway last week. I looked up this thread to see where people are able to drive these cars at top speed. I haven't found the answer yet. I can't imagine driving 170 on any open public road around here. Maybe I can find a long deserted stretch of road out in the desert somewhere.
When I bought it I told myself I'd keep it under 100 for a month or so until I got used to it. I failed. (mostly because the streets are empty due to the COVID lockdowns)
Low 130s back straight of Watkins Glen, then hard brake to go through the Bus Stop
But even more exciting in my mind, different day, learning to drive a 996 100+ in the rain, wiper going full speed (full disclosure, it took a lot of laps with great instructor to get me there)
125 on a straight stretch of four lane non divided highway that is almost always empty. It is on the last stretch on the way home on a twisty backroad route that I drive regularly. The car feels incredibly stable at that speed and I would love to push it higher but the fear of deer (zillions where I live, including in town), getting the car impounded and a mandatory court date make me wimp out.
I will take inspiration from the posts here and try to keep it to the floor for a bit longer!! 2001 C4
Last Sunday morning, 154 Mph car felt good and stable, then I looked on my left mirror and here comes a friend on a McLaren 720s he passed me like I was standing still, he hit close to 180.
I usually don't go past 125 or so, even at the track, I don't need to go that fast, but do cruise at a 100 quite frequently, last Sunday was a rarity for me.
Just over 100 on 495 (LIE) late at night "out East" (still super dangerous)... The car feels great at that speed, and it get's there very quickly but the thought of tickets/losing my license is just too powerful. I'll be doing a couple DE's this year - we'll see what I can get her up to on the track.
