Quality radar detector gives some peace of mind. Wide open stretches of road with clear visibility also helps. Mostly very short sprints up to speed then back to normal.
There are also herds of deer on Eastern LI - scary even doing 60mph on my favorite back-road twisties...Generally speaking they hear me coming and freeze or take off into the woods. I've had a few jump out on my when I'm in my other car though - you just never know...
Got over 120 on the staight on the Lighting track of NJMP. I probably could have gone faster but the few laps i got that fast i couldnt figure out where to brake so the over the top right hander didnt scare the crap out of me. Kept it around 115 to be safe in my head.

I agree with that, the right hander at the end also dips down.
The sounds of the track cars with PDKs at the point of the track is amazing.

I went to NJMP (both tracks) 2 weeks after buying my 996 4s for my 1st ever HPDE. My instructor wouldn’t let me go too fast, really diminished the experience vs what I expected. Maybe that’s why i drive so fast off the track.....its all his fault!

D Jeeper, here is a picture of Turn 1 @ NJMP Lightning for folks who haven't been there
Total elapsed time traveling from Boynton Beach FL to just south of Albany, NY was 15 hours 22 minutes. I figured I had to hit 120-125 at one time or another on I95.
Back in 1983 I had an opportunity to get a 1976 930 Turbo opened up a bit on the Autobahn in Berlin. Hit 265 kph (165 mph) and decided that was enough. She definitely had more in her.
165 on an abandoned airstrip. I was in Mexico I also scared the **** out of myself when my car gave me the death wobbles. On the roads, I got into a cruise with my buddies 1992 IROC, his dads Camaro, and my dad's R8 and we hit 120 on Ocean Parkway on Christmas.
About 110 twice in short spurts during a short 60 mile "mental health" loop this morning
That's about as fast as I'll drive any of my cars give or take 5-10 mph.
Low 130s back straight of Watkins Glen, then hard brake to go through the Bus Stop
ayyye, 130s before the bus stop is a nice test of handling thru that section!!. Especially downshifting and that hope that 4th gear is selected to avoid the money shift. The carousel following mustve also been sweet , too... !!
i reached abt 130 on VIR back straight, thats a leap of faith into the little left hand dip before the downshift too ...
funny, i dont drive more than 90 or so ever on the highway ... i guess the track does it for me.
