Hello guys,
Sorry for this question. I am from Spain, and just moved here one year and a half ago.
I have seen several posts regarding totaled cars after crashes or being theft.
How does it work with the insurance companies here? You don't have the option to keep the car if you want? I mean, if you have a crash like our colleague in this post, can you decide to not get the money from the insurance and repair the car? Or is the insurance company the one who decide what happen with the car?
At least, in europe, if you have a crash, you can decide if you want to keep the car and repair it or accept the insurance company evaluation.

What a bummer....sorry about the loss but seems like you got a very nice replacement. COngrats on that.
If I were you I would do the buyback and call Norspec dismantling and they will buy it from you for premium...they will do all the work....and you make some extra money for nothing. They also get a car that is not through auction so it is win-win. Others on rennlist have done this....

Thanks for the kind words, all. Lowpue, great advice, but I need to jump on that blue 991, and I don't get the insurance cash until they pick up the car.
In more leisure times I would do what you suggest, but I need to move as fast as possible.
However, I'm out at the track all weekend, so will have time between track sessions. If they are open Saturdays, I'll call tomorrow to see what they say.

P.S. How the heck does someone from Spain, here less than two years, have such good English grammar?

150k on chasis.i drove it home, seemed ok, but it was only 2 miles on surface streets. Seemed ok when i drove it to the shop, about 10 freeway miles.
