I heard somewhere recently (probably on the radio?) that "you should wait 30 to 60 seconds before driving after sending a text.
You're not able to fully focus on driving immediately after sending a text."

In Texas you're no longer allowed to text while driving.
Texting at traffic lights is ok though.
But I see lots of people doing texting while driving every day on my commute.
My only texting is done at traffic lights, or I pull over.
I used to use Siri to send texts via voice, but she really screwed up some of my texts, so I fired her.

How much of a deposit did you have down? Did you sign an agreement?
If none of the above were done, no surprise car was sold.

No deposit yet, since he asked that I bring the deposit with me when I was supposed to meet with him today. A dick move on his part.

Lots of nice cars in S. Calif ------> I know it's difficult but be patient, like those on your hot sauce waiting list

Manual base 991.2's with good builds are harder to find than you might think... I've also been on the hunt.

I'm sorry you lost out on that car, but here's the deal. I've been waiting for a 'buyer' to show up with a deposit on a car I'm selling. I don't know the 'buyer' in question is a tire kicker, wanna-be, test drive, lookeeloo or what. All I know is someone has agreed to show up at a certain time and place. I've lost track of the number of guys who tell me they will be here and never show. Or, show up for a $25,000 car and offer me $18,000 CASH RIGHT NOW. (Like I'm going to take a trade or payments. sheesh). The 'buyer' might be the most honest, and forthright guy in the world, but until money has changed hands if anyone shows up with $25,000 and he wants my car, it's going out the door - thankyouverymuch.

I made the mistake of holding a car I had for sale for a guy who was over the top gar-on-teed gonna show up on Sat and pay full price. Well, the number of dog-ate-my-homework excuses got pretty desperate. I missed a nice cash offer because I told the first guy I would hold it. Mistake on my part, not to be repeated.

Any yes, I know, you are gonna say 'yabut, I talked with him and told him this and that, and we had an agreement, and, and, and'. I'm sure it was a done deal on your part, but until there's money down, it's all speculation. Again, sorry it went that way. It could have been me as a seller you are now pissed at because I'm gonna do the same thing the seller did. Cash in hand.

Update: As of today, my 996 is once again alive! Very glad to see it saved from the scrap yard. Exhaust tip is still at shop being repaired. As many of you know, in the interim I purchased a 991, so selling the 996 to a friend.

Doc, I hear ya. Pissed at that seller, but yes , I do understand. I bet he used my offer to get more for his car. Ah well, ultimately I ended up with a better 991. An S with all the options.

Still interested in the wheels? My friend wants different wheels.

Sorry for all the posts in a row, going back through the thread. Ended up getting about 48k for my 996, between insurance, buy-back, and sale. Not too bad for a 152k-mile tip, I think. Trump don't know crap about "The Art of the Deal." Took me 6 months of negotiation, though.
