Ordered a set of sway bars while I wait for the shop to finish up with the work I'm having them do. I plan to drive the car stock for a while, then start making incremental changes until I find where I'm happiest with the feel and handling. That being said, jumping from a 23.1mm stock front to a solid 26mm may be excessive. We'll see once I get to that point.

Filter and new sump plug washer finally arrived so did an oil change.
In NZ we don't have many options for decent oils at decent prices, so after looking hard at what's available and the special requirements of our motors I decided on Penrite HPR5 5w40.
It has high zinc content and other protection additives and I coupled this with some additional Mos2 to up the moly content to ward off any bore scoring etc.
Cut apart filter and things looked good!
Finished doing paint correction on my buddy’s car and I’ll be installing the Hartech x Slakker sump next week. I finally opened up the oil filter from the previous oil change pre race event and it was clean, sent the oil sample to Lake.
I mainly did the mod due to availability and cost in order to prevent cylinder washing to prevent bore score in the future. That and i cannot find any evidence in the car's history of this ever being done. The removed injectors were very dirty above the spray nozzle but I have not tested them for pattern or flow.
If you have before and after fuel trim numbers you may see improvements with the new injectors. My trim numbers decreased and smoking starts are much fewer. Any fuel pooling in a horizontal cylinder arrangement is bad. Ethanol doesn’t help any engine component. It was worth the scraped knuckles and money in the swear jar for a bit more peace of mind.

@hatchetf15 I'm day three in now and there is definitely an improvement without a doubt. I should have taken a picture of my hands. I was torn up getting them in and I have a deep tool chest to choose from! Also, the cooling mods are giving me a true 180 degree running temp in the middle of a Charleston summer. She's running better than ever.
Just got back from a brief drive, which took place immediately after I did the brakes.
I replaced the front and rear pads with Endless MX72, the front and rear rotors by Ate (OEM style cross-drilled), and a 997 GT3 brake master cylinder by TRW. I also flushed and replaced the brake fluid with Endless RF-650.
My immediate impression, after the pads started getting bedded was “H O L Y S H I T !”
This combination is incredible. The stopping ability is much, much better than the Textar pads I replaced. I’m amazed at the transformation that has taken place. My confidence with the brakes has increased dramatically. In fact, I now need to be extra-conscious of the cars behind me when I brake, or else they’ll think I’m purposely brake-checking them!
I’m really glad I got this done, but I couldn’t have done it without some research on Rennlist. So if you’ve ever shared a suggestion on Rennlist to install one of those aforementioned parts, then thank you!

Pulled a couple of cars out of garage so I could detail the two Pastel Yellow 1999 996s. I read PCA plans to do a “Launch Colors” article on the 993, 996, and Cayman R, the 996 launch color was Pastel Yellow Yellow cars are not everyone’s favorites but as for me I agree with Bart Simpson Yellow is Cool. 😀

So jealous.
I used to have an W211 E55 AMG in an uncommon color (Cubanite Silver). As luck would have it, a contemporary W220 S55 same era, same engine, same AMG-ness, same color was parked outside of a local dentist's office with a for sale sign in it. I passed by it daily during school pickup/drop off. Meticulously maintained. Records folder looked like a small town yellow pages. My wife thought I was an an idiot for wanting a second project car just because it was same color.
