.1 vs .2 ?

 

Really? I have a 2002 996.2 and digital speedo is under the analog speedo still. Perhaps leftover 996.1 parts in my particular car since the first year?

I don’t think you can display actual digital speed under the tach. What you might have seen in photos is average speed displayed under tach, which is one of the display options, along with average mpg/miles remaining with current gas/etc.

i have 03 c4s so I can’t speak to 996.1s.

 

There's some vids on youtube showing the speedo under the tach and its def not avg speed since the number changes and matches the analog speedo needle.

 

He is abusing that car! Maybe Europe version, maybe 996.1? The analog speed is kilometers I see in that video. Sure someone with have the answer.

 

My 1999, Mk1, had the digital speedo in the center with the tach. My 2004, Mk 2, has the digital speedo to the left with the speedo. My now departed 2001 986 was the same as the '04.

That's what it seems to be. My '99 is also under the tach.

 

^This. My .1 has the digital speed in the center under the tach and my .2 has the digital speed on the left under the analog speedometer.

 

So does my '01.

 

So weird. Under the tach seems to be better placement yet the later model .2 regresses...
