Isn't $2.5 a mile a bargain? This guy paid like $40 a mile:

For me, the marginal cost of the miles is a small issue. True, the car could go from $110k at 10k miles to $70k at 30k miles, but the cost per mile is small compared to the impact of the depreciation or lack thereof spread out over the time and miles. Most $100k cars, even if you do not drive them, will cost more to own that a 993tt that you actually drive 5k miles a year.

Well, with the above, you also include the "new" factor, i.e. a 10% drop as soon as you drive off the lot, if not more.

Most NEW 100k cars will likely depreciate more...used...debatable. the worst is 65 series AMG benzes. $100k depreciation in 3 years...ouch

Yes, I believe this is around the going rate for a TT from a knowledgable dealer.

Just because there are others on ebay with 39K miles and $90K asks doesn't mean that pricing is anywhere near a realistic.

I'll reiterate my opinion that alot of the high ask pricing is driven by speculation in the market. It's that time of year, and money is flowing a little more freely than it was 2-3 years ago.

Not my ideal color combination, but I am still somewhat interested in the 96 at RAC. Can you confirm if it did have water damage? The sales person made no reference to damage of any sort when I called.

I sold my Arena/Gray 993TT for way under market value in 2005 to pay for my wedding. Not a day goes by where I don't think about that car (did I mention I sold it to pay for my wedding ). I have no complaints about my current ride, but the 993TT will always have a special place in my heart.

It was for a good cause . . . now, if the marriage does not last . . . well, you may want to cry!

Use the search function - its was discussed at length on this forum. I do not think it was the same car, but its the same dealer and color (from what I recall).

Cheers,

Mike
