Default 993 Rear diffuser ?

Have anyone seen rear diffuser in 993TT?

Originally there isn't much room for that but now I have nice empty space there and I just like the look of Ferrari's rear end ..
not in very serious but just thinking.. what do you say?

Ask Petri about this. If you know his green monster ( aka The Kermit ), you'll know who I'm talking about. He's been planning such for Kermit.

OK, I'll add some pics.

PS: Need more pics about your project!!

There's the dp widebody prototype at:

although not on a 993TT.

Joel Reiser has one on his GT2, you may want to contact him.

Looks very cool!

So the purpose for the diffuser is to move air more quickly under the car correct? Or is it related to downforce? Please excuse my noobness regarding aerodynamics

You don't want to increase downforce for your targeted objective, but if you want a GT2 EVO underbody as they came from the wind tunnel, here is one made by a pro. PM me if you are interested. Circa 22 lbs and 2000 Euros.

Do you mean that I have already enough downforce?
I don't say that I will do it, I'm just thinking of that..
But if I would do it, what will happen to the aerodynamic drag? Does it remain at same level (Cd=0.34)?
And because this would increase downforce at rear, so does it reduce downforce at front when rear wheels go lower? If that is true, then it is not a good idea.

If you're looking for maximum top speed, you do not want a lot of downforce. Downforce inherently creates drag. If you want stability at a lower speed and cornering grip, downforce is your friend but needs to be balanced. Meaning, you'll want a front splitter to act in conjunction with the read diffuser and wing.

Where did this system originate--was it factory --where was it used? Is there a rear diffuser aspect to this as well?

Jussi, increasing downforce will hurt your times to reach your top speed, if that is what your objective is, which is why I mentioned it.

This is the same that Porsche Motorsports used on the EVO 2 but it is not OEM. Porsche Motorsports in Weissach quoted me >10,000 USD for the three parts alone excluding the side covers. The original rear diffuser was small as can be seen in the pictures.

I was advised against using them in my particular weather conditions by people who have used them in the past, and also due to the very specific ride height needed for them to be really effective and all the testing it requires to optimize their effectiveness.

The benefits of the rear diffuser are there, but under very particular conditions, such as having the GT2 boomerang wing, or it could also increase drag much more than downforce under many other conditions, which is sub-optimal.

I ended up using other custom parts instead.

by saying that do you mean that diffuser also increases aerodrag (Cd)?
Or can pure downforce decrease speed ?
Sorry my ignorance, I just want to understand these things (but I don't know if it is possible )

Thanks for pictures.

But now when I have more space for that diffuser, I could do that kind of model:
