The real 100-300kph ultimate hp test thread

Marski,
Your car is amazing, you need to bring it to Europe where we have some decent straights without limits.....
Adam,
The little Yella Fella still amazes me, for a near 20 year old car, it's barely bettered by anything made today and is a pleasure to drive. The fact that you still drive it all over europe without problems is a testement to the cars design.

Didn't have time to do the 100 to 300.. 2 sets of axles broke again but we managed to do 10.11 seconds @ 142.46 mph 1/4 run. best trap was 144.80 mph... we only had 3 runs....

They were not measured on a drag strip, very different traction. OTOH the distance is slightly shorter, the quartermile is 402 meters vs. the 400 meters measured.

As you can see, the gray RT12 outperforming the red R Turbo.
I'm also for the moment, colorblind
There is a catch though!! - and yes they floored it both

the acceleration figures are not measured but manufacturers claims.
The performance of the SPR1 was disappointing. Even with the wheels fully covered it run a lame 370kph.
The car had problems that day though.
A phase sensor for the camshaft setting was defect.
Sportec had no spare sensor and set a fixed camshaft setting.
There are more Sportec tests where the cars did not reach the claimed numbers.
On the other hand a customer 996 tt cab run a nice 355kph in Nardo years ago.

During the Autobild test the Sportec SPR1 had a problem with the cam pointer which they were not able to fix, I guess this somewhat justifies the performance. Whether this is a sign of reliability of the package or not I am not sure, they should have however made sure that their car was top notch prior to the test.
