Gareeb,

Those are the "turbo 2" wheels off the 2001 and later turbos. They use an 11" wide rear, and many people prefer them especially if they are hollow spokes (some of the real early wheels are not). This dealer is right around the corner from where I work. Would you like an independent eyeball?

If it is convenient for you to have a quick look that would be great.
All the cars that I find seem to be several hundred to several thousand miles away. You are conveniently close

Thanks

The wheels are from the 996TT, a common "upgrade" for some folks.

Price seems low for a dealer, although miles are on the high side for a dealer sold TT. Regardless, a PPI would be wise. Given the cars locale, you might try Mike Schatz at Ruznak for PPI work, if you want to try on this car.

Enjoy.

Gareeb,

I have a couple of late conference calls today, and they will be closed a bit early today (they are a very small used car dealership... always with interesting cars), so I won't be able to see it until tomorrow. I hope that doesn't mess anything up. This price sounds great if there are no stories (repaired body damage, etc). I'm not an expert, just a pair of independent eyeballs. You may want to consider an offer of $55,000 contingent on passing a PPI to be done by Michael Schatz at the local Porsche Dealer (Rusnak)... its only one mile from his dealership. Make sure the PPI checks for any previous body work, as well as all the usual mechanical suspects. Are there service records available? Can they fax you copies?

A PPI will always find a few things that need repair. You can use that to negotiate or to back out of the deal. I think that's an excellent price if there are no major issues. BTW, if well maintained, these cars are barely broken in at 75,000 miles.

I'm going to make a few calls and see if they have any service records.
Thanks again.

It looks like they will be faxing or emailing me the service records.
We shall see what it entails.

You can send me email (ca993twin@yahoo.com) and let me have your name and phone number. We can take our disussions offline, if you prefer.

Not a bad looking car. Interesting it has euro tail lights but federal corners in the front. A set of clear corners will fix that right up. Turbo s ducts are a nice bonus. Where are the pics of the interior? ........
Steve, we haven't met, but what Bradford says I'll go along with.

gareeb: There is a nice 1996 993 turbo in Bothell, WA. He is asking $69,995 for his car. You can look in autotrader to see pictures of the car. Park Place in Bellevue also has two for sale. A midnight blue w/red interior ($72,000) and an arena red w/black interior ($79,000). Hope this helps you out. Especially since they are in your own backyard.

Thanks for the comments... I'm just paying forward what other kind Rennlisters have done for me in the past.

Garee, I can swing by Allen's at noon tomorrow. I tried to respond to your email, but it blocked me, and it had trouble with the form I needed to fillout to get "accepted". It couldn't find the original email or something like that. I'll call your cell when I've looked the car over.

ca993twin: I was also looking at this 993TT. I would be interested to hear your comments about the car.

EThec: I don't think the car has Turbo S ducts. I think it is just the angle of the car in the pictures.

adsc4s: I don't see them. I guess ca993twin will have to chime in once he sees the car.
