Regarding the XA22

I agree regrding your concerns, however if used as it should be the XA is very good and the results are very repeatable. The XA does not come with a user manual however and that is a short coming. The manual or what there is of one has to be downloaded from the web site. It should have a quick start instruction sheet and an in depth manual.

TB, I agree with your concerns about the AX22. I am surprised because I thought that the mix of GPS and accelerometers can offset any errors via calculations that the device makes.

Once I receive the data from LAT, I might be able to figure out something.

As for traction, good R compound tires with the right amount of heat in them will get you grip up to 1.3 Gs as I tested through my datalogs.

However personally I seem to have never reached those ideal temps on the street BTW there is huge loss of traction in Alex's run too.

I was also surprised with the error LAT got since even if you don't "calibrate" the unit when static and level at the begining of a run, the GPS does "catch up" and gets the speed right after a number of seconds, so maybe LAT's errors were more to do with the angle of the unit ?
Just to be straight, I am not doubting the numbers presented, just trying to imagine what it must feel like - can you maybe ask the owner if I can have a copy of the files so I can "feel" some of the Gs produced

Someone posted on 6speed numbers showing that this this protomotive car is faster than a '92 Williams F1 car 100-150mph.

the Williams is 600kg and had 650hp power to weight ratio 1100hp/tnne

So for the Protomotive car to match this ratio weighing ~3800lbs it would need 1866hp.

Like I said, I am having difficulty with making the numbers work

The 3.0sec 100-150mph claim was not posted by the owner or someone linked to the owner, just a calculation someone had done and I think their calculation must be wrong.

However F1 cars do slow down a lot above 150mph due to having a cD of about 4 due to downforce. McLaren themselves were quoted as saying the F1 roadcar accelerated faster than the Formula 1 racer above 150 due to the drag issues.

The CGT does 60 to 130 in about 7 seconds, assuming one shift. It's Weight/Power = 3042/605 = 5.

A 60 to 130 of 4.4 seconds (one shift) is 1.6 times less than 7. That requires a Weight/Power that's also about 1.6 times less.

Assuming Alex's car weighs 3600 lbs, that's 3600/HP = 3.1, HP = 1,161.

1,161 HP at the crank with 1.5 bar of boost, race gas and a very efficient intake and exhaust system is certainly not unheard of.

Of course this is all meaningless anyway since the whole point was to compare 60 to 130 times in an accurate way. Alex's 4.4 second run on the AX-22 seems OK, unless he was going downhill, which I doubt a man with Alex's reputation would do.

We are very lucky to have such knowledgable people on this board,
I finally bought the "data flash card thingy" at Best Buy last night and will try AX-22 this weekend.
it is also difficult to find screwdriver that is small enough to secure black/red wires to orange plug-
in.

Craig, extend the antenna cable through the passenger window and stick it on the top of your roof. I typically close the window on it barely , just to hold the cable in place. Without a proper antenna position, you can get wrong readings.
