$105k + 5% auction fee, would have been $110k+ out the door before sales tax and would've been the new going price for a low-but-not-that-low mileage WB in M&M colors! But that's not sufficient.
I'll count myself blessed w/ the Arctic silver.

This thing went RNM at $105K with 44k miles. Very interesting or too much seller optimism??

Saw that car on autotrader recently. Dunno about buying from Quebec. Heard too many stories about shady used cars!

The car is in beautiful condition! I wouldn’t discredit the accuracy of the miles based on the worn driver’s bolster. Let’s face it most Americans ain’t so slim these days, and not so agile either getting in/out of these small cars. In order to assist with ingress, I’ve seen plenty of folks (slim and overweight) getting in their lowered 993s by resting their a$$ on the outside bolster and sliding down. Do that every time, and any seat material will deteriorate in no time. My $.02

Not into roll cages as such but this looks great. Lot of money but a LOT of money put in.

Based on the collective of comments above, seems like that would have been the appropriate thing to do. Bird in the hand.

Oh I saw. Still doesn't mean the car needed them.

It's a 1998, which commands a slight premium to prior years; yellow has smaller possible market, but worth a premium for those who want/like yellow. I didn't study the car enough to comment on actual vs perceived age/wear, etc. I suspect PcarMarket will try to make a deal between seller and prospective buyer.

For sure! I would think 98’ hits many checkmarks, last year of 993, last year of air-cooled, last true turbo look wide body, among other.

My guess is the bidders were shills, trying to smoke out someone crazy enough to pay that kind of price for the car.

When I started looking for a wide body aircooled years ago (and I personally preferred a C4S to a C2S), all things being equal I preferred a 98 for many of the above mentioned reasons. At the end of the day though, there are other factors that would trump a MY (e.g. better condition, documentation, ownership history, etc.), hence why I said 'all things equal'.

After a long search, was able to find a 98 C4S with a very late VIN # (so kinda cool to think its literally and figuratively last of the aircooleds), and incidentally that was the year not many C4S were sold (299 in total, the C2S that '98 model year saw an actual 993 C2Ss being produced which l am sure was intentional by Porsche ).
