I wouldn't think there would be any discount, since US and Canadian cars are virtually the same, except the speedometer.

A euro spec car that was imported and converted to US spec via the gray market would be worth less than a US car (unless it had some desirable options or features that US cars don't, such as sunroof delete).

i'm curious - do you believe you were quite responsive during the auction and did you have any pic requests that weren't met? some auctions seem to perform extremely well - like record-breaking numbers well - and then others fall short. BaT has certainly become the 'go to' location for european cars with specific brands/models doing very well. i have seen the 993 market cool over the last 6 months or so though. when the 964 market exploded, it seemed to take some steam out of the 993 values. you were bid to $45k give or take - what were you looking for?

I was disappointed to see that as well. Not sure if it's a general trend or just summertime blues but the market for our beloved 993 seems to be cooling off.

I’ve sold four non-Porsches on BaT at pretty fair prices, but it seems to me that 993’s don’t usually do well there.

If somebody pays $1.1M for that car I'll eat my hat.

BAT has become hit or miss. PCarmarket seems to be picking up slow and steady. It being marque specific and all.

What do you guys think is a fair price for a black ‘96 Carrera coupe manual with 30k miles? A friend of mine just called me offering me his car and I would like to make a deal that is fair for both of us.
Thanks!

Get a PPI and Leakdown / Compression test first before you do anything. Hard to say price without.

For sure I will even though I’ve known (and driven) this car for a few years

55k sounds a bit low? The car is basically flawless (30k miles!), I know the history and he bought it approx 4 years ago from Sloan. I was thinking closer to 65k?

If it's truly a flawless 30k mile example of a C2 manual coupe, then 65k is certainly fair.

Ok, here's a challenge. What would this be worth?

1995 polar silver coupe. Basket handle rear light. Black interior. Manual. Stock 17" cup wheels with new treads
145k miles
2nd owner. Since 60k miles. Purchased. 1999.
Re-geared tranny. 2nd thru 6th. Good ratios. Steel synchros.
RS LWFW and clutch. No stalling issues.
Pss10. RS sway bars. In good shape.
8 or 9 out of 10 interior. Seriously. Stock interior. Leather seats are still impressive.
Fully maintained at the highest level. All records available.

Purrs Like a kitten and runs perfectly. Well balanced and fun and good for track and taking wife to dinner.

To me, priceless!!😎
