+1...Its amazing how cars sit for sale on RL/other forums/ebay then end up on BAT and get sold at strong prices.
The fact that it sat here for a while at $100k clearly shows they're doing something special over there. It helped that the PO and the PPO participated in the auction commentary. We certainly have experts here but I think they take it up a notch there . The 7-day limit doesn't hurt either.
97 2S w/55k miles - $117K with buyer's premium.
This is the same car that was on RL for a while for $100K.
Congrats to seller.
When I originally listed the car for sale on BaT I was asking $115k. Seeing it sell today for $117 tells me my ask was right on the mark. RL buyers love to chit chat, but don’t actually ever pony up when the car comes along. The individual who bought my car will be very happy. The car is a VERY solid 9 out of 10. He will enjoy many miles and smiles in the car. I put a lot of effort into improving the car. He will love it. Plus, he is getting a very rare specimen. The fact is, if you want to sell a car, BaT gets it done.
Here is an updated C2S/C4S chart. I edited the BaT sales to include the 5% buyer's premium which only seemed right. The new trend line was computed on all data points except CWCSVT's BaT sale, which, at $37k above the trend, is clearly an outlier.
There was an interesting exchange in the BaT auction on C2S vs C4S. It may be too early to tell but it's interesting to note that 4 of the largest outliers in the chart on the high side are 2S's.
