Hey Doug, that is great, let me know how it goes. I just took a closer look at the photos directly from their website. I have trouble understanding that type of driver seat bolster wear on an alleged 25k mile car. Maybe I am not that versed on 993 interiors, but at 86k miles my 9934S shows much much less wear in same location. Can someone explain that to comprehension please? This is the 2nd car in over a week that someone has commented the same condition of wear vs mileage at seat bolster on driver side. I mean my 964 has 37k miles verified and the driver's seat is 9.8/10 in condition. Tough to understand. Anyway was just sharing this with the rest of the listers as this Red is not my color preference nor is the price range. Porsche On!

Maybe someone just pulled the car "in and out" of the garage to start it up and clean it frequently and never really drove it. Most of the wear is "in and out" typically.

Last week I saw an alleged 8800 mile C2S and both the driver-seat bolster AND steering wheel looked like they'd seen A LOT more time than 8800 miles. ParkHaus1 claimed they believe 8800 is correct. They also wanted ~$140k for the car. (Funny, too, the plastic thing that covers the seat hinge was also broken off or fallen off.)

What do I know....

Call me cynical, but it's way too easy to disconnect the odo on these babies, no?. One more reason to be cautious paying big bucks for a "low mileage" garage queen. High wear on the pedals is another clue.

98 CAB 59K miles
Sold on BaT today, $58K (60.9 with BaT commision).
Has to be a new record for a CAB.

Interesting car...~82k miles...plus there's a TEN percent buyer's premium, which I would expect will hold the price down a bit. Assuming this car has no issues and a clean history, I'd say FMV is high 60s, not including the BP.

Hi all -- Interested to tap into your knowledge and experience in the 993 market. I am looking for a nice 993 "s" coupe. I have found a '98 4S manual with 40k miles on it that looks in nice shape and has a clean car fax. From looking at the price charts it seems like this should be in the mid $80s but the market seems to have softened a bit over the last few months. I would appreciate your thoughts on a fair price range for this car in today's market

The only way to convince the seller of the softened market is to make a solid offer and be prepared to walk away. Depending upon the seller's need for speed--or patience--you may be able to snag this car in the high 70s, but be prepared to go higher if you really want it.

I have seen few true bargains in the 993 WB market since I began my search last spring. And I have seen several nice (looking) cars at what appeared to be attractive prices get snagged by another dealer only to reappear at $15k-$20k MORE!

Another car I've been watching for a while just INCREASED its asking price by five grand recently (low 20k miles NB C2, went from $69.9k ask to $74.9k, despite not selling for several months).

Like in most markets, money talks and BS walks.

Another thing about these cars...I have driven five or six in the past year and all drove differently...and none wowed me, despite my fascination with the WB back end. Something about me just wants one, even though there's a piece of me that expects to be underwhelmed by the actual driving experience.

From what I’ve seen, I don’t think the market is softening. Wouldn’t be surprised to see it picking up as we enter spring/summer. BaT sales, for instance, have been particularly strong lately.

If you want to be wowed, try a NB RS tribute or a turbo. The former will wow you with its incredible handling and charisma, along with strong-enough acceleration. The latter will wow you with old school turbo power... and charisma.

Mid 80's for a private sale, 10-15k more from a dealer.
Print out the price chart and take it to the seller during negotiations. If they're significantly above the trend line, ask them to justify the premium. They might counter with examples of all the high LIST prices out there (and there are plenty), but list price is meaningless. What counts is what they're actually selling for, which is what the charts show. If you see one significantly below trend, you might just be looking at a super deal, so be prepared to act when the right one comes along.
