Yea I noted that. On one hand I want a driver car and not a show car but on the other if the owner didn't care to blow off a leaf during the photoshoot what else has been neglected under the hood. no mention of any mechanical maintenance or upgrades except for a battery change. Current owner got it in June 2020, feels like a quick flip imo. Curious where the final bid lands.

^ Already at $75K with 2 days to go. Guessing this one will end north of $90k.

There's a interesting BAT price prediction model (https://batpredictor.cognitivesurpl.us/) that has the following:

Our current best prediction is that this car will ultimately sell for some value between $74,823.74 and $101,492.09 with the likeliest value at $88,157.91. Note that our estimates are constantly updating through the course of an auction.

My experience is that Porsches tend to be on the upper end of the estimate, so I would guess between 90-100K final selling price.

with owners seeing that low mileage 993s (NB) are now bringing, in some cases, 6-figures, we'll probably start to see more and more come across BaT. I have to say, i did not expect NB coupes to start bringing $100k+ just yet. that's got to be very tempting money for many, i would think.

Still a lot of money for what it is….. Scant options, 78k miles, and a poser NB that was converted to look like a WB or RS or whatever…….. . . . . . .

Another one just went live on BaT (38K miles / black). I wonder what the queue is like right now for 993s at BaT…

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...11-carrera-70/

link for everyone

‘96 C2 manual
Black/Black
38k miles “TMU”
Hardback sport seats, LSD/ABD, 030, turbo hollow spoke twists

Also it appears BaT is now listing any 993 with known replacement odo gears as TMU.. that’s interesting.

No good deed goes unpunished. My ODO was repaired immediately upon failure by the usual place in HW everyone uses and of course I kept the receipt for it. I would be pissed if my car was listed as TMU and lost value on purpose due to BaT when everything was done properly just to avoid that. It literally removes all motivation for anyone to have it fixed in a timely manner.

TMU should be the default for mechanical odometers that are known to fail regularly.

you have to determine the condition of the car by putting your own eyes on it and use the miles on the odometer as just one data point.

For an educated buyer, TMU should not be an issue - look at the mileage from other sources - carfax, receipts, seat bolster, paint, etc.

That being said, TMU will deter some BAT bidders.

That site should just put a disclaimer on their site about mileage on all cars listed and just leave it at that, not single out individual cars per their discretion.
