Great American 993s for Sale + Price Discussion Thread

Agreed. Lots of money. I guess the black one on BaT that had 5 owners (or more) which sold in mid Dec for $80k ($84k including commissions) would support the valuation of this one.

This was on pcarmarket a month ago (reserve not met) and was sold by Hi Tec... I think the listing price at Hi Tec was around $110-115k. https://hitecauto.com/vdp/16970587/U...afael-CA-94901

Now they've dropped the price to $125,000. My 1998 C2S is much better appointed also with the Turbo II package, much rarer paint color, Euro bumpers, Painted back Sport Seats, plus a mile long list of other upgrades. That's a crazy price but one that makes me happy!

More than likely it is! I frequently drive around that area of Dallas. I have yet to see one like mine. I have the GT3 decals along the rocker panels on mine. I have never seen one with the decals. Interesting bit ... I came across a posting on this forum back in January of 2011 posting about this Guards Red GT3 that had popped up for sale. That's the one I purchased.
I do go to Cars and Coffee at times and other PCA events. Less this past year due to COVID, but would like to get together whenever you want!

$125k doesn’t seem unreasonable to me based on 36k miles and condition. C2S was rarest as only 1,752 were imported to the US total. Prices will continue to climb on the low mile, excellent examples.

I have 80K on mine which is still considered low mileage? In fact I trust a 993 more that has been at least somewhat driven. I've heard the real low mileage ones haven't been driven to where all the seals and such remain pliant. Remodeled my garage this summer and epoxied the floor. Not one miniscule drop of oil has been seen under my 993.

Do you have agreed value insurance? That's what I have and had to up the amount on renewal given how prices on C2S have been heading...

For reference - I didn’t have agreed value insurance. In May of last year my 98’ C2S was totaled. My car had 105,000 miles but was a very special rare color in concours condition - fully restored literally nut and bolt restoration inside and over the prior two years. They valued the car at $127k. The adjuster compared the car to recent low mile (under 30k mi) sales and described the condition of the car as “restored as new” which greatly helped me I’m sure. If an insurance company is valued my car (remember I didn’t have agreed value, they had little incentive to value it as they did) that generously low mile original cars (C2S or C4S) are likely at least that or much higher.
