Haha.. the only one still in FL has been at Gulf Performance since April 2017! 3.8 motor is done but waiting on transmission.

Another nice looking NB just went live on BaT:

That one has been there forever and a day. It was actually the first wide body 993 I went to check on however many years ago I got into the 993 itch. I think it was being offered at $80K back then IIRC. This was in 2016 and the car was there already for a while. In hindsight , that price for a 28k mile car at that time was probably right, but since I only drove my 4S for 1800 miles sadly, it would not have been a wise purchase back then. And I can't deal with this BAT auction format as that is almost like having a second job for weeks leading up to the listing being live, and for the auction's 7 days if you are a seller. I mean can you imagine one of us having to respond to a potential bidder or peanut gallerist 'What is a sound pad, and where is it located?' I can't even publish what my response to that would be.

We lived through this inflated 'market' peak before and we shall live through this again. Don't know who all of a sudden appointed BAT as the main certified market marker but it is what it is. Unfortunately.

...maybe I should rethink this and start asking $100K for the C2S. for $200K I may also include the OEM sport seats... let me email BAT....

Looks like if the car is at least a B+, coupled w/ professional photography and a responsive, forthcoming seller, BAT is a very good venue sellers.

The last few mins were thrilling to watch. BAT makes for some real-time excitement on pcar price trends.

WOW!

I will let my 95 C2 w/ 36K miles go for $75K anyday. Black/Black.

Heading to Hawaii to close on a house this weekend, may be time to let it go vs shipping. Almost feel I should reinstall OEM suspension and sell the PSS10s.

Something tells me lots of people are calling BAT with 993s for sale..

Come on! It’s a Carrera 4! No wonder! C4>C2 2,884 were only produced World Wide! Presented well and nice color combo. Don’t see any issue here with closing bid.

While C4 production was indeed ridiculously low, I've not recalled any time when there's a meaningful price differential between C2 vs C4. It has always been (among coupe manuals) NB vs WB.

Well... if you pay attention and are involved in auctions you will see the price difference. This is nothing new. Rarity + condition will always drive price.

Last C4 on BAT sold for $58K, this one at $80K+ seems to be an outlier. Tips or verts are rarer than Coupes, they definitely go for less money on the average.

Nothing like two people that really want a car at auction!

I saw that arena red 993 on BaT this morning. Love the color. It will get too expensive for me I'm sure.

BaT is a great resource for sellers, especially if it's a nice car, well presented, and the seller is responsive to questions. Although I've noticed that most winning bidders are rarely the questioners. BaT sucks for buyers, because other than having a reasonable buyer's fee, folks seem to be paying over retail for nearly everything, especially air cooled 911s and very nice old BMWs.

Though not everyone on this board is a fan, but when most verifiable sales took place in BAT, and perhaps secondarily Pcar auction, one has to respect the results. Enough actual data points equate to an authoritative guide; and beats estimates from the likes of Hagerty.

And the peanut gallery at BAT has no lack of folks in the know about these cars (some are from here). And they're not shy in voicing their thoughts.

I don't think a forum like BAT somehow inflates the sale price. The flip side of your argument also holds: that if the seller is unresponsive and the pic quality is poor, the sale price (or more likely RNM) will also reflect that.
