I'd say there are a few OEM seats in mint condition put up for sale every year here on the RL classifieds. Search the archives and you can see for yourself.

Be patient and check the classifieds often and you'll find a nice set soon enough

Almost a year later after install and my last post, leather is starting to sag on the drivers seat back. Posting from an airplane but I'll try to remember to post pictures when I return home this weekend.

If your interior color is black, hold tight and find some OEM seats.

Hi,

Anyone have experience with LADismantler reconstructed hardback sport seats vs Waldemar’s?

+1 someone else in the know told me the same thing. Order them direct to avoid the LAPD markup.

Hmm, interesting. Excluding shipping both quoted me the same, with LAD quoting a much shorter leadtime.

Hate to ask a stupid question but do the seat backs recline? Have a friend who ordered and received a set but they are not very comfortable since the seat backs are virtually straight up and down. He has electric adjustment for foward/back and seat cushion up down (front and back). Thanks.

If you’re not familiar with the seat, it’s not a stupid question. And Waldemar disconnects these manual levers before shipping, so make sure your friend has reInstalled them. There’s a small circular hole in the leather on the side of the seat where the lever attaches.

I've looked at every picture I can re: this lever and can't find what to look for. Asking for a friend. . .

Can anyone be more specific about attaching the recline lever or take a picture?

Thanks.

You know what, I think I do have pictures from when I refinished my seats. I'll look for them and post them later today.

Thanks very much!

I'm in the learning phase. Made an offer on the ones that are up for sale in the marketplace.

Any comments about install, hook up to electrical, etc. are welcome too. I'm hoping to do them myself purely for the ego boost of being able to say I did it.

I do not have hard back sport seats and from the pictures in this thread, it don't see where the corner joint plastic cover is that hides the recline mechanism I have pictures of below. In the regular seats the cover where the seat and backrest meet is easy to spot and remove.

Anyway, once you figure out how to access this part of the seat mechanism, you will see a cable connected to a brass coloured plate that is pushed onto a sprocket (?) and held with a c-clamp. This is how it should look when attached.

Here you see how it looks when disconnected. I remember that on my first attempt at connecting the plate, I didn't have the part where the cable connects to the plate rotated enough and as a result, when pulling up on the set lever on the top of the seat, it required a lot of force to unlock the seat.

What I mean is that when you connect this plate to the sprocket, make sure that the point where the cable connects is at least horizontal to, or even a bit lower than sprocket side. I hope that makes sense. In the picture above, you can see that it is perfectly horizontal.

Glad I kept these picture for the past three years!
