I wanted to report back that I received a wire refund for my deposit. It is not the amount that I provided for the deposit, it is less. There was some communication of keeping a portion of it, as a sort of restocking/penalty, there are also fees, exchange rate issues, etc. So, sort of hard to track back to an original exact amount. I am just happy to have gotten the majority of it back. One can speculate whether it was the pressure from Opo/Rudy, Rennlist, others, or just seller doing the right thing in the end. Regardless, I dont care, and I want to thank all of the above. And lesson learned for this type of international transaction with no paperwork, contract, etc.

Happy to hear you were able to work this out with Waldemar!

Another POSITIVE perspective - I ordered a set of seats from Waldemar and he was forthright about the time for the project. Waldemar had several personal issues in late 2016 , the last of which was an injury that took about 6-8 weeks of recovery time. He reached out and explained the delay and I was OK with it. I understand that it is a small business entirely dependent upon his availability and the positive is that he does great workout a fair price. I previously have had HB seats made from scratch (i.e., comfort seats) and Waldemar's price and product is much better. In summary, this post is an endorsement of his work with the caveat that one should understand the time required. I do not believe there is a financial risk if one is very patient; and I sympathize with others who've not had an experience as good as mine. IMHO the results were GREAT.

Still in process - just a plain '95 C4 Cab, sorta cleaned up - new carpets, top, leather, seats, RSD, basket-handle delete, Euro bumpers and lights, TA wheels, Boothe crests/caps, SRP pedals, gauge faces, brake/shifter/gauge trim in black anodized, 3-spoke SW, Bird, ... I'll post some pix when it's completed.

I agree ... looks like an awesome product but takes time and one has to understand this before ordering. In reality, you will get the seats but... takes like 6 months. I think its worth the wait based on everyone here that has received them.

Looks great. Is that real CF and if so does it lower the overall weight of the seats. Also, if CF how does that change the cost?

Yes, real CF. But the hard ba cos are pretty light normally. I haven't weighed the two but would expect very modest difference. Same cost to Waldemar as painted backs.

IIRC,the seat cushions on the 996 are not as thick, but a good shop should be able to mate the two. Essentially the same seats I believe. I had a set of 996 but never had the covers off a 993 at the same time. They look close enough to make it work. Haven't tried to change the side controls.

I think your best bet is to have custom 996 covers made with the 993 stitch pattern.
