It was a good learning experience, now I need to finish the passengers side.
That looks great. Did you use a kit? Is this a difficult diy?

Took the '97 to a local car show on Saturday... my son brought our family's newest Porsche fan- he's the only kid allowed to touch the car...

I left it home, and drove the Audi to the LA Porsche Experience Center. Drove a Cayman S. What a beast! Makes my 993 feel like the antique it is.

Would I trade? No way! Love my 993.

What do you like better about your 993 over the Cayman S? Haven't driven one, so I'm curious.

In terms of power, handling, control, and overall driving experience, it's the Cayman in a landslide.

In terms of heritage, beauty, history, character, and all around emotion, it's the 993.

Bottom line: if you are into performance and mechanical excellence, get a Cayman. If you are into the Porsche mystique, keep your 993.

In the 993, you have much better visibility and headroom than in a cayman.

Owning both a 993 and a 991 right now, I've had the last couple of months to compare the two. Both have their positives and negatives. If I had the space and money I would keep both.

The 991 is a MACHINE!!! The PDK is amazing, the noises it makes, esp. with the optional sports exhaust are just amazing. The pop's and burbles on downshifts when you are on a nice twisty road are a blast!. It has a lot of creature comforts, and ultimately a lot more space for my 6'4" frame.

The 993 on the other hand is so good, because it is smaller and nimbler. There is something to be said for rowing your own gears and working with the clutch. The smell of the oil cooled engine is one-of-a-kind. It has the classic good looks. Even though the engine has >100 hp less, compared to the 991, it is fast, powerful, and never keeps you longing for more. The handling of the 993 with PSS10's is just as good as the 991, although at the limit the 991 nannies can safe your bacon. The 993 can't, you have to do it all yourself.

I am so torn up about having to sell the 993. If it only had a few more inches of interior room it would be my forever car!!

Great comparison, thanks for sharing. I have often wondered if the 993 with updated suspension handled as well as the modern cars. In your experience, it seems like it does. I also agree with the amount of power in the 993. It's not overwhelming but it feels powerful and feels like enough to me.

Default Installed FDM tips

Installed a set of black FDM large oval exhaust tips. Then cruised out to meet some Porsche brothers for coffee. It was a good day.

Default Trumpets!

I decided to play the trumpet

Trying out some new filters, would love to leave it off completely, the velocity stacks look sexy all by them selves...
