Well, with all excitement to finally take the car out of hibernation, I topped off the tire pressures and took off the car's soft cover. Got in it and smelled the smell of a 28-YO well-kept 993...only to try to start it and found a mostly dead battery. The first sign was funky behavior unlocking the car on both sides.
I plugged in my handy-dandy voltmeter and found just 6.75 (volts?). Time on the clock was nearly correct but the alarm lights were acting strangely.
Since I had made a commitment to meet someone for a drive, I had to execute Plan B: Dihibernating the GT4.
Now I'm in search of a replacement battery. Any suggestions?
What I did to my 993 was take her on the first road trip since I bought her. 400 mile round trip this week to a conference. She didn’t miss a beat. Love this car. My 981 Spyder as good as it is remains under a cover parked in my garage most days. The 993 gets daily driver duty.
what wheels are these, look a bit different around the rims, very nice...

I have had very good luck (to date) with a Bosch AGM battery. I do not keep the car on a tender but usually drive it at least once each weekend year-round. Even if it does sit for several weeks there has yet to be a problem.
Changed the interior dome glow worm filament bulbs for 42mm festoon LED's. Huge difference when opening the door, does not mess with the alarm system and the auto dimming still works.
Dash is getting finished up with the leather now. I'll build a new center console next year. I'm having a friend 3D print a housing for the Rennline switch panel to mount to the bottom of the dash. I like the cleaner look between seats. Not happy with the drivers floormat and how it fits around the gas pedal and the Rennline floorboard. I'll have a tailor fix that here soon. All in all, a bit more work to go and then she'll be ready for the summer.
Next winter, I'll finish the rear seats to match and get some cork leather matched RS style door cards from Carbone. I like how it turned out so far.

Kinesis SuperCups. And you're correct, it's easy to spot the difference between them, Tramonts and the authentic RS Speedlines. All three are different.
Oil change today. Ugh!!!
Yeah I love the 993, have had it since 2001 and now 185k+ on the clock and continue to love this car. But oil changes simply suck! Hate em! So frickin annoying with that 2nd filter location, even the placement of the big filter, ugh!!! But it's done, mess and all! Thanks for letting me vent. I can now go back to loving this work of art
I had mine released from hibernation.
Took a few minutes to fill all the hydraulic lifters with oil, but once it got pressure again it purred like a kitty.
Awesome wow feeling with the last years new engine build.
