That's where I got mine and they've been great- dependable and durable.

I ordered the 993 cooling ducts w/ lights along with a pair of Euro clear front indicator lights. Type 911 processed the order the next day and the parts arrived within a week. Very pleased with the quality, pricing and customer service from Type 911 and highly recommend them.

Great thread, already have paint ready to go and about to order the ducts from Type911. Since they only send the ducts and the bulbs now, could someone please explain or link what wires, harnesses and/or plugs also need to be purchased to compete the install?

No special plugs or wires needed. But if you want to avoid cutting off the existing connector, pick up the following at a VW dealership:

813972926 - Round Connector - QTY 2
000979104E - Wire Set - QTY 2

That will allow you to use the connector plugs to the existing fog-lights for a plug and play solution. Courtesy of Top Gun. See his post here.

Thank you! Both for the response and for starting this great thread. Look forward to putting some pics up here when the project is done.

Just updating this thread to post the latest Link for the Turbo S Brake Ducts from Type 911 UK. No affiliation, but at just £100 you can’t beat the price.

Question... And please speak slowly and explain with detail as if I'm a mechnical/electronic idiot.

I had the Turbo S ducts with positioning lights installed on my car in 2001. The bulbs are halogen which don't match the upgraded HID headlights I installed in 2006.
If I want to upgrade the BULBS in the Turbo S positioning lights to LED can I? Just the bulbs? Or do I have to get entirely new ducts and paint them again, etc?

Also, can I upgrade the HID bulbs to a similar color temp as the positioning light bulbs? I'd love to get those two elements matching.

Yes to all your questions. You'll simply need to figure out the bulb type. Nearly all bulbs have LED replacements. To get colors to match, you'll need to find out the color temperature. Example, daylight is around 4200*K. Above that is more blue, below that is more yellow. Once you have your color temp, matching should be straightforward. My advice is to go with a reputable company for your LEDs. Tons of crappy pieces on the market, so go with a brand you recognize or someone here recommends.

We really need a close up photo of you ducts/lights, the halogen bulb thing is confusing the issue

Photos of the bulb and housing would definitely help. You should be able to simply pop in an LED festoon bulb.

Carnewal offers the pricier OEM turbo scoops in both halogen and LED. It’s the same turbo scoops, and same Hela housing I believe. They simply substitute a 9 bulb LED festoon lamp.

By "halogen" do you really mean "Incandescent" ?

I suspect so, if that is the case a 2 minute upgrade is just the 16x LED festoon bulbs;

These will match HID's a lot better than standard 5watt filament incandescent bulbs

I tried quite a few options before modifying my lamps to take these;

Yes, I meant incandescent. Thank you.

Okay, I'm confused again.. So you're saying I can replace the incandescent positioning light bulb with a 16x LED Festoon bulb like this:
Amazon Amazon

So what is all this??!!?? Are those the turn signals or something?

Those Amazon ones will wok fine

The boards fit inside the lamp and fill the lens with light more than a central mounted festoon LED I found
