Gotcha.. But the festoon LED bulbs are plug and play. The boards is more of a mod job?

Also, I want 4000k right?

B-Line, we’d all be grateful if you could post up a photo of your scoops and light box. And while you’re at it, why not open up the box and get the dimensions of the existing bulb. I thought the 39 mm seemed right. Sooner or later we’re all going to need bulb replacements. Thanks

Of course... But the car is at the spa getting it's goody bits tinkered with. The scoops and light box are the OEM Turbo S scoops I bought from Carenwal in 2001.

I wanted to find a source for LED replacement bulbs. A careful search of Type 911 UK’s website revealed this Festoon bulb 16x41mm beauty for just £2.50. Eureka.

Foxman, first of all, great build thread on Wilbur. I spent 3 hrs clicking through that. Your commitment is amazing!

Back to the lights.. I bought these on ebay for my 993 3 mos ago....color temp is classic Porsche and not blue at all. Did the interior lights, added footwell lights with them. http://www.ebay.com/itm/8x-41-42mm-9...e/143228763511

You want the 5630 LEDs because they are brighter but just fit snugly in the housing. Not sure if Type911s will fit and accidentally ground..which i've done before

Shipping from HK wasn't bad..i think 2 weeks?

Any LED Festoon bulb either 39mm or 41mm will fit as the light unit fitting is easily adjusted!

Just buy a load of Ebay and try them, cheap enough!

That's what I did.. But it's a guessing game which bulb temperature will come closest to matching the HID's.

I know that this is an old thread, but where can I find this bumperette filler piece?

Perfect! Gavin, the designer, even has pocket door reinforcement which I was trying to figure out how to fix. Thank you for the link!

Hey folks - sorry to bump an old thread but I see various different listings. I want to achieve the turbo s front duct look on my 98 c2s. In 2024, which recommended vendor should I go with to get a kit that has functioning fog lights?

If I order just the turbo s ducts (left + right), do I need to order other stuff (harnesses, covers etc) to make it all work or is just the ducts enough?

I see the below option from rennline but wasn't sure if there were other recommended options.

https://www.rennline.com/fog-lights-...6&gad_source=1

Also in terms of paint matching, is that something you can do yourself or is it recommended to take to shop? My c2s is ocean blue metallic and I see the paint code available with spray paints on amazon fwiw.

Hi Aircool’d,

see post 156 above for the link for the Turbo S Scoops. The link is still good. You can try Touch Up Direct for another alternative for the paint. Have fun with it. There’s also a post above for the stock round adapters, but a few wires and electrical tape and shrink wrap will also do.

That will allow you to use the connector plugs to the existing fog-lights for a plug and play solution. Courtesy of Top Gun. See his post here.
Here are the part numbers and a link for the VW connectors so you don’t need to cut any wires. Thanks goes to Too Gun for this info.
