There was an empty apartment in my building. The manager is letting me use it temporarily. I wanted a clean location to put the bottom end together. I plan on doing everything up to sealing the case and then return to the garage for final assembly.

Looking good! Cleanliness is key at this point for sure.
When you seal the case halves together, are you going to put some sealer/adhesive on the inside bearing ribs to try to minimize the fretting? Got be be careful, since it has to be very thin so it does not add to the clearances.
Cheers,
Mike

Very thin Loctite 574 on the inside mating pieces. Three bond 1194 around the perimeter and Three bond 1211 on the number 8 saddle. Then some Curil-T on main seal gasket area and the Pulley gasket and DOW 111 on the Viton through bolt o-rings.

I am going to do my rebuild in the house, all the way to P&C's just to make sure the bottom end is all sealed up and no nasties can get in.
That's a good sealing plan Peter.
Some advise against any sealant on the RMS, I am still back on forth on going dry or using Curil-T

I need some help. On the left case there is one sole stud on the mating surface in the corner (see pic below, no. 35). In looking up the projecting length the shop manual says, "Discontinued". Do I just leave this off? Seems strange???

Just out of curiosity (because I am rebuilding my engine soon), but where did this guidance come from?
